The usual error Michelle, is fitting the correction tape the wrong way around. From memory, one side is shiny and goes outwards facing the typist, and the matt, slightly tacky side is towards the paper.
The Orange Spool Correction spool is the correct one
I believe the installation for the correction tape on an Epson 350 Elite Plus typewriter is similar to the correction tape installation for some models of Brother electric typewriters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1lQAEio9R0
First make sure it is installed correctly as well as the ribbon. If they are not in their guides correctly, then this is common. Also, make sure you have a non-tacky correction tape or nearly non-tacky correction tape. Sure hope this helps.
if it prints but doesn't correct, it is probably a problem with the correction tape. make sure the tape is instaled in the correct postion with the dull side towards the paper
Verify that you have installed the proper correction tape. The types of tape that can be used with this system are: Item 1030 - Correctable Film Ribbon, 1230 - Correctable Film Ribbon 2pack, 1031 - Multi Strike Ribbon, 1032 - Nylon Ribbon, 3010 - Lift-off correction tapes (to be used with 1030 and 1230 ribbons), 4010 Cover-up Correction tape (to be used with 1031 and 1032 ribbons). Make sure that the correction tape is installed properly. Pass the tape through the left guide, behind the ribbon guide and out through the right guide. The rough side of the tape should face the platen. Attach the feeder spool to the pin on the left. Attach the take up spool to the pin on the right. Turn the take up spool counter clockwise until a small amount of tape has wound around it. Replace the cassette ribbon and close the case cover. Press [CODE] + [RESET] to move the carrier to the previous position.
Sounds like the correction tape is not installed properly. Try remving and reinstalling it again. Make sure the hammer solenoid assembly is latched to its home position. After installin the correction tape you can manually operate the lift arms to check the feeding of the tape. If you have a loca dealer you can probaly take your machine to them and they may install the tape for you at no charge.
The full spool goes on the L. side of the printer it goes thru guides on both sides of the printer and thr empty goes on the R.
Be sure the dull side of the tape faces the paper.
