There are many different reasons why your Internet and wifi connections might appear or be running slow. It could be a problem or an issue with your modem and or router, theWi-Fi signal, signal strength on your cable line, devices on your network saturating your bandwidth, or even a slow DNS server.Try and reset your router and modem first. It could also be the coax cable splinters are bad and needs to be replaced and the internet signal and the wifi signal could be weak where you live and not have strong and good enough connections. Weather storm types can cause problems with the internet and the wifi. You should contact your service provider and company for your internet and wifi about this and see if they can fix it.
Unfortunately for you you're going to need the login and password in order to get into that wifi. If you don't know what that is then try another wifi access point in the list. All wifi is not created equal even though it has a strong signal it still may require you to have the security key which for most of us is just called a password in order to get into the wifi access point. Good luck
Ramona, try turning your wi-fi router off then back on. do what you need to do to add your lap before whomever logs back on. if this works, get back here and we'll see what we can do about your password k/
I dont know about 20.1 however if is 10.1 go to settings>wireless& networks>wifi>turn wifi on>wifi settings and sure you should find the open wifi with strong signal. If you dont have the security code or access code to the available wifi then there is no way.
If you enter the correct pass code for that "site" What you call a site is a wifi router or hotspot. When you own one and did set it up, you should look in the manual, what code you gave it.
Reinforced concrete walls contain steel bars and will prevent reduce radio signals from reaching your cell phone. You maybe able to get a strong signal near a window provided the cell phone transmitter tower is not on the other side of the building.
just want to ask if your computer can detect any networks? if does all you have to do is to ask them the wep-key(security key of the network if it is secured) <secured meaning network is asking for a passcode>
or also you need to check if the wireless switch is on (switch usually located on the front, left or right of the system)it should be on the right side
Hi,
The easiest way would would be to install a DSL line in the APT and connect direct.
Have you got the correct WEP key to the wireless networks?
Do you ever have a warning that you are connected with limited connectivity or acquiring address takes ages?
If so, you may be attempting to connect to a network with the wrong key. In addition, it may even show you are connected, yet you cannot access pages.
Have you ever succeeded in connecting properly?
Please provide answers and I will try to help some more.
Regards,
Icom1
Well, you cannot get the wep key unless you have 1 pc that is wired into port 1 on that router. If you are wired to port 1, log in to the router and go to wireless, and look for wireless security. there you can change or remove wep keys. If you cannot log in, then you should reset the router and contact dlink to have an expert guide you through setup. Wep keys are not needed if you live in an open area, but if you live in a close knit housing area or in an apartment complex, they are a good idea to keep other people from stealing your bandwidth. In my own case I had a wp key for awhile, but decided that i would remove it and just use an open wifi. My signal is not strong enough to reach more than 30 yards, so unless you are parked beside my house you cannot get my signal. That is usually good, but sometimes I wish I had internet at my neighbors house, ha ha.
Usually there is a little button that you have to use a paper clip to get at that will nuke all the settings and take it back to Default Settings... Just to let you know there are setups now that can easily receive a wifi signal over 2-10 miles and the furthest recorded wifi connection was over 125 miles so you might want to keep those security settings...
