Ipod disabled

Like all electronic devices, iPods sometimes freeze and become unresponsive.
Sometimes iPods lock up when they're dropped on the ground or come in contact with water, but less destructive accidents may also cause them to stop working.
All versions of the iPod have a way to reset their hardware should they stop playing music or refuse to turn off.

Check the "Hold" switch on the top case of your iPod to be sure it isn't activated.
An iPod will appear frozen and unresponsive if this feature is activated.
A lock symbol will appear on your iPod's screen if it is in Hold mode.
Switch the "Hold" button on and off once. Place one finger on the "Menu" button and another on the center button.

Press both buttons at the same time and hold them for up to 8 seconds.
Release the "Menu" and center buttons once the Apple logo appears on your iPod's screen.
Try releasing the buttons and pressing and holding them a second time if the logo does not appear, as it can sometimes take several tries to reset a severely frozen iPod.
Press and hold the top button and the center "Home" button on a frozen and unresponsive iPod touch to reset it.
Hold the buttons for at least 10 seconds and wait for the Apple logo to appear on the screen, then release the buttons.
Connect your iPod to its powerblock or a computer if it is still frozen.
Wait 5 minutes and then try to reset it.
Sometimes an iPod can appear frozen when its battery runs out and just needs a few minutes of power to start working again.

Will not leave apple logo

Sometimes a iPod malfunction occurs that results in the Apple logo freezing on the screen of the iPod. When this happens, toggling the Hold switch or resetting the iPod typically resolves the problem. If following the manufacturer's instructions on resetting the device fails to get a response from your iPod, however, you must troubleshoot other potential solutions. In addition, taking the time to find the cause of the problem can help you prevent a recurrence of the issue.

Battery Allowing the battery to discharge completely may unlock an iPod stuck on the Apple logo. To drain the battery, leave the iPod with the Apple logo on the screen and place it in a drawer or in another safe place. Do not attempt to use the iPod until the battery drains and the screen goes black. This may take a day or more depending on the current level of battery charge. Once the battery drains, connect the iPod to your computer or to the wall outlet using an AC adapter and charge the battery completely before turning on the device. b> Restore If the iPod remains frozen on the Apple logo after draining and recharging the battery, you may need to restore the device to original factory settings. Unfortunately, this results in the loss of all data and media files stored on the iPod. Restoring the iPod, however, does not delete the files stored in the iTunes library, so you can still get your data back onto the iPod. Follow the specific instructions for your iPod model when restoring the device. Upgrade Software Problems with the version of software installed on your iPod may cause the device to freeze. Upgrading the software may resolve the problem because the updates released by Apple often include both bug fixes and software enhancements. In addition, installing the current release of the iTunes software also may resolve the freezing problem experienced by your iPod. File Corruption Often, a corrupt file can cause your iPod to fail. If you notice that the problem recurs after playing a specific song or video, then delete that file from your iPod. If the problem occurs again after synchronizing with iTunes, delete the file from your iTunes library. Then import the original file into iTunes again or re-download the file. Typically, if a corrupted file is behind the iPod freezing, a reset temporarily restores functionality until the problematic file plays again. b> App Overload Installing apps on your iPod touch can give you more than just fun or informative software. Running too many memory-intensive apps at one time can overwhelm the device and cause your iPod touch to freeze. A single problematic app may have the same effect. Limiting the number of apps running at one time or removing troublesome apps may resolve this problem.
