  • Hi, you can try this; in a clear area of the Desktop screen (right)) click, once the desktop windowI can't get it to display anything but large icons - 2_bing.gif open, click on Personalize, next click on Display Settings. You can adjust the brightness by doing the following: On the "resolution scale" adjust from (Low>High) you can do this until you are satisfied with the view. In the ("Colors drop box"), select the down (Arrow), and choose the "Highest" color (16bits>32bits) etc. Next click to open the (Advance settings), select the ("List All Modes") button, once the window open choose the (Highest) settings: example (1366 by 768, True Color (32bit), 60 Hertz. Remember to click the "Apply", and "OK" buttons after each selection, and changes. "Restart the computer, to finalize the application." "Did this solution help?"

Goto my computer and right click, go to properties, device manager, in there click on the + sign on display adapters, right click on the one it brings up and choose to update driver, use the internet option to search for the driver, be patient it a few minutes.
Also have you gone to the screen properties check that the settings in there are set to 32bit.

Program too large to fit screen hp mini 110 notebook

Change your screen resolution on the Display in the Control Panel.

Click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization (depending on your operating system). When the Display opens increase the Screen Resolution. The resolution will be under the Settings Tab on the Display. The higher the resolution, the smaller the icons and things will be on the screen, therefore you'll see more.

My newer flat screen monitor went black but works fine when hooked up to another computer and I have an older monitor that I hooked up and the older one works fine...??

That sounds like a display/resolution setting problem on your PC. I doubt there is anything actually wrong with the PC or the monitor, since both work with different combinations, so its most likely just a setting.

Some monitors don't display anything when they get a signal/resolution that is not compatible with their displays. I would try changing the display settings on your computer with your old monitor, then switch monitors and see if your newer monitor works.

Here's how to adjust the display resolution:
If in XP, right-click on the desktop and go to Properties, and select the tab for display settings and adjust/lower the resolution. If in Vista/Win7 right-click the desktop and select Screen Resolution/Display Settings and adjust it there.

Large monitor has distorted display

try adjusting your system resolution to a largest one (as 1280 x 800), or using a DVI cable, if your monitor and video card supports it.

Hannspree 19" HF199H LCD - Display is LARGE on monitor!

Try Control Panel - Appearance or Display- You can change how your 2nd display looks there.. Sounds like you have it set in Clone mode...(both displays show the same things)...See if you can reset the 2nd display resolution while keeping the laptop in its normal resolution. Not all machines can do this...but most recent ones should be able to.
