Why won't my Garmin Nuvi 780 charge?

A couple part answer here. The USB pin out for the Garmin is strange. If it goes into PC mode, then the cable is got the wrong pin out for the unit. Try different cables until one works. If you can get a full charge on the unit and the battery does not provide at least an hour + of battery use, then the battery needs to be replaced. Amazon sells replacement battery kits with instructions. You just have to make sure you order the right one.

No voice prompt when time to turn direction

Make sure volume is up and not muted. Make sure that you have a voice selected in the voice menu. Under settings, make sure that you have guidance checked. When you press the buttons on the screen, do you hear beeps? If not, your speaker could be bad. More sound troubleshooting here: SHARCNET USA Out of Warranty GPS Digital Camera Repair

Touch screen

If there is physical damage to the touchscreen, then it can become unresponsive and will need to be replaced. The touchscreen is bonded to the glass (they are one piece), so both the touchscreen & glass will need to be replaced, even though the glass may not be cracked. Please see this link for more information and how to have the touchscreen replaced for you. SHARCNET USA Out of Warranty GPS Digital Camera Repair

My garmin nuvi 2555 says battery low and is plugged into the car

If the unit keeps displaying a pop up window saying that it will be shutting down with a count down timer then the problem is a loose USB port that keeps interrupting power to the unit. The reason why you receive a battery low warning is because the battery doesn't have a chance to charge because of the intermittent USB port. We see this problem all of the time on the Nuvi 11xx, 12xx, 13xx, 14,, and 25xx. We've repaired hundreds. Please see this link on why the problem happens and how we repair this problem so that it won't happen again. SHARCNET USA Out of Warranty GPS Digital Camera Repair

My Garmin Nuvi 780 will not stay charged. also i am unable to charge it while I drive.

The Nuvi 780 is an older GPS. Most likely, the battery needs to be replaced due to age. Many lithium-Ion batteries are only good for 2 years. More information can be found here: http://www.sharc.net/gps_battery_repair.htmPlease have the battery replaced by a professional. We have repaired many units from failed battery replacements by customers. Often other things get broken in the process, sometimes beyond repair.
