There is a "belt" (with pulleys at each end, and the carrridge in the middle) that pulls the carriage from edge-to-edge.

If that belt is broken, or the clamp that connects the belt to the carriage is broken, the carriage will not move.

It's cheaper to replace the printer, and responsibly recycle the old printer, than it would be to try to repair the printer.

How to replace ink cartridge for Epson stylus nx515?

Caution:
Leave your old cartridges in the printer until you are ready to replace them to prevent the print head nozzles from drying out. Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.
1)Turn on your product.
2)Lift up the scanner unit.
Caution:
Do not move the print head by hand; otherwise, you may damage your product. Do not touch the flat white cable inside the printer.
Press the stop button.
If a cartridge is low or expended, the print head moves that cartridge to the indicator position. Press the stop button again to check for additional low or expended cartridges. When all cartridges have been identified, the print head moves to the replacement position.
If no cartridges are low or expended, the print head does not move. If you want to replace a cartridge before it is low or expended, press the stop button for 6 seconds. The print head moves to the replacement position.
Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift the cartridge straight up to remove it.
Note: Dispose of used cartridges carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.
Warning: If ink gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. If ink gets into your mouth, spit it out and see a doctor right away. Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children.
Before opening the new cartridge package, shake it gently four or five times.
Caution:
Do not shake the cartridges after opening the packages, or ink may leak.
Remove the cartridge from the package.
Caution:
Do not touch the green chip or the small window on the cartridge. Install the new cartridge immediately after removing the old one; if you do not, the print head may dry out and be unable to print.
Remove the yellow tape from the side of the cartridge.
Caution:
Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink will leak.
Insert the new cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place.
Press the stop button. The print head moves to its home position and the printer starts charging the ink. This takes about 1.5 minutes. When the power light stops flashing and remains on, ink charging is finished.
Caution:
Never turn off the product while the power light is flashing or you will waste ink. Thanks

How to change a cartridge on c4345

Installing new cartridge:
If you are putting in a new cartridge, make sure to remove the tape.
Turn on the unit, then open the print carriage access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.
Fit the cartridge into the proper carriage.
The carriage with the gray latch is for the black ink cartridge (HP 56), or the optional photo cartridge (HP 58).
The carriage with the blue latch is for the tri-color cartridge (HP 57).
Slide the cartridge into the carriage at a slight angle, as shown in the illustration above. When the cartridge is fully inserted into the carriage, rock it upright.
Hold the hinged flap of the latch out while lowering the latch.
When the latch is fully lowered, release the hinged flap. It should catch under the tabs on the carriage, as shown in the illustration.
Close the cartridge access door.
The LCD display may indicate that the cartridges need to be aligned. Press Enter on the front panel. You may discard the alignment page that prints.
Remove cartridges:
Turn on the unit, then open the print carriage access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.
Press down lightly on the top of each ink cartridge latch and pull the lower section of the latch out to release the cartridge.
Pull the cartridge out of the print carriage and relatch the empty print carriage. The print carriage may move to the right automatically, and if the latch is up, it could be damaged.

The print cartridge cradle cannot move.

"The print cartridge cradle cannot move."
I fixed this problem by disconnecting the power cord from the power-strip and connecting it directly into the wall. My printer was not getting enough voltage from the power-strip. I hope this helps.

Paper jam?

Check Paper light flashes but there isn't a paper related problem The check paper light may also flash if there are other problems. Verify the following conditions:
  • Verify that the print cartridge door is closed.
  • The print carriage may be jammed, follow these steps to correct the problem:
    1. Open the print cartridge access door. If the print carriage can move, it should move to center. If the print carriage stays all the way left, unplug the power cord and then plug it back in. This will reset the unit and may allow the print carriage to move from the left.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
    3. Remove both print cartridges.
    4. Move the print carriage left and right slightly to verify that the print carriage will move freely. If the print carriage will not move freely, check for obstructions.
    5. Close the print cartridge access door.
    6. Plug the power cord back in.
    7. After the all-in-one initializes, the print cartridge light will flash. Open the access door and install the print cartridges.
    8. Close the print cartridge access door. If the problem returns, remove the print cartridges and wipe the electrical contacts before reinstalling them.
  • Try to make a copy. If the all-in-one pulls in paper but cannot make a copy, there may be a problem with the scanner mechanism. Contact HP for assistance.
