All I did was put a spliter at a the end of the phone line that plugs into the modem. Next I ran a line to the arris and another to the fax machine off the spliter. Very simple. Jack

The Xfinity Arris 805 and 862 and CP3939 wifi info is on the bottom of the router on the white sticker. If the sticker is missing call Comcast 1-800-226-2278
first its a mac so no wonder its broken second its not your modem it would be your router settings. you may want to restore your device back to its defualts then try again.
You have to set seting from routers menu. To use it hold 15 second
router restart button, that restore factory setings, then go browser http://192.168.1.1/ , and use username "admin" and password "admin" in default. There you can set setting by your connection.
hi, mate check firewall settings of your modem/router. Then contact your IT administrator and he should be able to make changes to configurations for you. In most cases if server classify's your connection as unsafe it rejects it.
Can you connect if you are directly wired into the router?
You may want to try using a ball point pen and pressing the reset button on the back of the arris. Let it reboot and try again.
Some netgear routers come with the wireless disabled out of the box, so you need to be hard wired when you run the CD or if you try to connect through your browser 192.168.1.1
You need a router or network switch to share the single connection from this cable modem. Wireless router if you're so inclined. Comcast is about to jack the rental rate for that modem from $3.50 to $5 on January 1, at least in Atlanta.
