Most probably your monitor has two inputs, one digital and one analog. Using the monitor's on screen menu select the other input and you should see your picture.

Testimonial: "i actually fixed it i put the cable in the digital slot and it works now thanks"

I have a 19" cmv

How old is it? If it still under warranty get it repaired, it sounds like the switch is gone or the energy saving s/w inside is bad and is not detecting when/when not to turn the display on/off.

I have a Chimei 19 " monitor. I have connected it to an LG LST-4100P HD digital tuner via the VGA connections. When I power the tuner on, all I get is a message on the monitor that indicates *OUT OF...

You need to read your HD digital tuner and see if you can lower the video resolution to the maximum the monitor can handle, right now it is too high for the monitor to display. If the resolution is OK then the problem is in the monitor logic board.

I have exactly same problem

Sound like your display is having issues with the inverter board. When the power supply detects a short circuit, it turn off by itself. When you try several times, you may be able to "bypass" the circuit protection but the damaged parts still having problems. This issue may be related with the DELL display issues.

The display needs to be fixed by someone with experience in electronics repair.

Monitor driver

you can set a resolution of 1440*900..
option 1) open device manager,, update the drivers for standard vga card.. locate ur video drivers folder,,(do it manually even if u have it on cd)...

option 2) this one is bit risky.... open add new hardware wizard and add ur correct video adapter, no matter ur standard display adapter is already installed. after you finish, update ur original standard display adapter and this time, it will pick the correct drivers.. now you can remove your dumb display adapter and restar pc .
risk is- be very careful, u dont want to remove your physical adapter by mistake, resulting no video after a restart.

CHIMEI CMV938D 19 WIDE SCREEN LCD volt

I have the exact same monitor and it is 220v. But seeing as i bought it in Australia that makes sense. If yours was purchased in North America then it is almost definitively 110v. It is likely that it is written on the actual monitor. If in doubt you could always try it with 110v. If that works then theres your answer. If it doesn't then its probably 220v.
