My whirlpool topload ultimate care II washer does not agitate, spin or drain. It is making a buzzing sound and it sounds like it's trying to work but just won't move.

Sounds like the belt under the machine is either broken or off the motor/pulleys. Empty the tub, turn off water, disconnect the power. Pull unit away from wall, tip it back so you can look underneath (Make sure to put blocks under machine so it doesn't fall on your head)Find the old belt to get the size. To replace the belt, put it on the motor pulley, the on the large pulley, then the small one. The motor mount is usually under spring tension.

How to change drive belt

disconnect power, remove the belt guard, spin the small pulley while derailiing the belt from the large pulley. To install, put the belt on the small pulley and then on the large pulley while rotating the spinning parts by hand, easier to turn the small pulley, guide the belt into the large pulley groove.

Install belt on Amana top load washing machine

Use the correct sized belt!!

Loosen the Motor mounting Bolts. ( Do not take it off ) Now the motor assembly can be moved towards the opposite large pulley.

Replace the belt in this position and slide the motor to it's original position. You adjust it in such away so that, the belt is not too tight or loose!

Electrolux front loader.EWF1090 i have the replacement belt but am having trouble fitting it. belt seems too tight. is same as the roken one. any suggestions?

put it on the small pulley first, then hold it on the large pulley with your hand and slowly turn the big drum, ensuring the belt stays on the big pulley as you move it. line up where you place the belt on the small motor pulley with the drum or it may slip off again.

Replacing a belt on a frigidaire glft1670a

First remove the top of the unit by taking out the 4 screws at the back of the machine. After the screws are removed, push the top foreward and lift it off. Next, remove all of the screws on the back of the machine and remove the rear cover. The belt should be infront of you now. If your belt is broken or worn, go buy a new one. Put the belt in the grooves of the motor pulley first. Hold the belt onto the pulley while you use the other hand to start the belt onto the wash tub pulley. Slowly rotate the large tub pully and feed the belt on fron the motor pulley. There will be a fair amount of pressure and this is normal. Keep turning the large pulley until the belt slips on fully. Spin the large pulley a few rotations to make sure the belt is centred and is in the proper grooves of the motor pulley. Now replace the back cover and top in the reverse order.

Putting belt on top load amana washer moder #unknown

There is a large pulley directly under the washer drum that runs the transmission. There is a small one connected to the motor shaft, and a third which is attached to a spring-arm and acts as a tensioner.

Pay attention to the direction the tensioner moves. The back of the belt should go against the inside of the tensioner when it is released.

The easiest way I've found to get the belt back on is to thread it around the small pulley, and tensioner, then start it on one side of the large pulley, and rotate the large pulley to allow the belt to thread onto it.

Hope this helps.
