Air Tools & Compressors - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Most likely a vibration problem either from the engine or the compressor or both - if both have a vibration that happens at the same time the results could be dramatic on pipes and bracketry.

Your local plant repairer should have at least have a vibration meter to measure the vibrations of your machine.

Bedford used to produce a truck with 220 cu inch 4 cylinder engine that was a cut down version of their 330 cu inch 6 cylinder that wasn't balanced to a greater degree than the 6. Used for local delivery work and it was fine and trouble free but when used for distance and running at constant high revolutions for relatively long periods, things would work loose and fall off if not regularly attended to.
The injector pipes would be the first to suffer - the rubber lined clips retained with nyloc nuts would work loose and one or two pipes would break, the fuel lift pump would work loose, the exhaust front pipe and then the manifold. The metal fuel return pipes would frequently break and the cold start device was among the first to be vibrated to pieces.

If you send the model number I can give you a specific part number, but the issue is the head switch is stuck on.
This can be caused by a bad switch or the cylinder not returning entirely.

Most likely needs the entire actuator assembly - my suggestion is bring it to an authorized Senco repair center, I think the actuator has a lifetime warranty.
If not warranty, its definitely not worth repair, the actuator is 3/4 the cost of the tool new.

How would you know it isn't delivering the rated SCFM?
It is far from simple to measure this part of the specification.

While many manufacturers state the CFM in free air as a guide to choosing the right compressor and it is usually a theoretic calculated value using rpm and displacement.
It is interesting Kobalt has quoted an SCFM at 175 psi which is a very ambitious thing to do due to the many variable affecting compressor performance - temperature, humidity, supply current...

A 3.7 hp motor is similarly ambitious for a single phase supply (3-phase isn't stated). 2.5 hp is reckoned to be the maximum for a standard domestic supply and even then the high starting current can cause problems as well as when working hard a voltage drop on the supply will cause slow running. A short dedicated supply is preferable and for a 3 hp motor it is considered necessary.

I would say a short and really heavy dedicated supply is necessary for 3.7 hp and if any dimming or flickering of the lighting is taking place the motor will certainly be running at less than the rated speed and therefore a reduced air volume.

I am currently obtaining information on roof paints and I can share what I have found out
roof restorers use a membrane paint rather than an ordinary acrylic paint or enamel paint as it is the most resilient paint for the application
IT is applied at a pressure of 3000 psi from a special gun and paint pump, cannot be rollered or brushed and goes on to a thickness of 150 microns ( around .120")
the cost is around $400.00 for 10 litres which covers around 10 sq meters ( 3ftx3ft)
acrylic can be sprayed or rollered or brushed on and is good for about 10-15 years depending on the roof to start with (thickness around .030" --same as car paint job)
costs around $180.00 for 15 lts and covers 14-16 sq meters
namel should be avoided as it does not have the capacity to expand or contract with temperature changes
professional roof restorers will repair any problems , clean the roof off and then apply the membrane paint as it gives a good quality result
other than that I would talk with paint suppliers as they have the same membrane paint that the professionals use and get ideas as to the way to go.

Jump starters are usually imported generic items label engineered without much of a spare parts service. You might be lucky if you approach the supplier but most likely not.

You could try repairing the compressor. They are quite simple and might even only need a squirt of WD-40 to make the valves work again and the piston to start pumping.
In spite of there being no lubrication system they usually give good service and would need extensive use before they wear out. Compressing humid air would create a little water which would provide a little lubrication...

If it is shutting down because of "low oil" then you can do one of two things but first make sure the oil is at the proper level
unplug the low oil safety switch, if ok replace the switch!

The Best Benefits of Metal Roof Coatings By Conklin

When our white roof coatings are applied to commercial metal roofs you will save money since the frequent local roof repairs will be virtually eliminated. When roof damage occurs from wind and hail storms occur elastomeric white roof coatings are the default choice. In reality Conklin Roofing Systems should be your default choice since they manufacture the best products in the market.

I haven't much experience with airless sprayers but I have heard the bad language from those who use them.

I expect there is still paint in the business end of the mechanism and an air bubble stuck between that and the new paint fill.

I think the sprayhead will have to be removed or dismantled so the air will be able to escape and allow priming to take place. I suggest spending a little time with the instruction manual.
