Brewunit will not go back in due to the cog and wheel not being lined up properly

  • Anonymous Nov 15, 2009

the brew unit is in the correct position it is the part inside the coffee machine which the brew unit fits onto which is out of line. it is as though it has stopped mid cycle and therefore it is out of line. it needs to rotate 180 degrees. is there any way to reset the machine?

HI
These are some instructions for your problem.
To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this, look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not, locate the slide on the left side of the brew unit,(it should be hanging down, a flat rectangular piece attached to the cylinder) and push the slide to the right until it does. Push the press button and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group in to the machine. First you must close the door and turn on the machine without having the brew group in, but you must have your drip tray and dredge drawer in. Turn the machine on. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door and remove the tray, now insert the brew group and replace the tray.

Gaggia titanium inside cog won't line up with brew units cog, the brew units is in the correct possision. Machine comes on some one said I need a new ct board

If you've had the back off it may be this.....there are two grey plastic prongs sticking out of the back of the casing, when you've put it back on they haven't gone into the two lugs that are on the back of the cog, this affects the two cogs lining up.you may have to pull the cog up a little to line them up when you put the back on, the cogs should line up again as long as the prongs have gone into the lugs. Hope this this helps.

I have a 2004 GSF600S, when I put it on centerstand and spin the back wheel slowly. There is some regular clicking sound from the transmission / gear box section. You can actually feel the click vibration...

check the tooth profile on the drive cog and the cog on the wheel
if they are more spiky that properly formed as in a new cog
then what is happening is that the pitch of the cog has altered from wear and the pitch of the chain ( distance between link pin centers ) is no longer compatible so the chain tends to ride up on the teeth and then clicks back in place
the fix is a new chain and cogs or if the teeth are good , just a new chain

The timing belt had been removed for some reason. I tried to put it back on but quickly found out that the cogs in the belt and the two pulleys had to be aliegn properly to get machine to stitch correctly...

Hard to say without knowing what you are talking about.

Are there any notches, arrows, points, or notches on the wheels?
Are there any other marks on any part that is near the wheels?

Maybe have a real close look and I'm sure there is something that has to align with something else.

Took chain off to remove wheel and am unable to get chain back on correctly. 2001 Magna oasis 26" 7 digit shifting speed. Unablew to locate manual...can you help?

Put the chain to the inside of the front cog wheel, beside the pedals, first but not onto it, so you have plenty of room for pulling the chain to the rear. Fit the wheel back into place and before tightening it pull down the spring loaded arm, with the small cog wheel beside the back wheel. This takes the tension off the chain and allows you to put it into place on the back wheel. Tighten up the wheel. When it's tightened fit the chain onto the top of the front cog wheel. Lift the back wheel off the ground and turn the pedals forward. The chain will click onto the front cog wheel when you have turned the pedals one complete turn.

If you need to see a picture of how it should look at the back you can see one at http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/bik/2409696114.html

Hi my fisherprice amazing animals train is making a horrible noise when it moves. like cogs are slipping??

we had the same thing, son had been pushing / sitting onthe train while it was moving. there is a blue motor assembly with several cogs inside - the cog attached to the belt driven wheel needed to be pushed inwards so that it lined up properly. needed a bit of pressure but it wasnt too fiddly.

Unit reads "Brewunit missing" I have taken it

Hi
Make sure that it is locked in the insert position before you try to install it. Push the press button and see if it clicks and the funnel moves. If you hear it click, then try to install. If it is already locked and ready to install, try this. Put the drip tray and dredge drawer in and close the door. Turn the machine on and see if you hear the motor move. If it does, then open the door and remove the drip tray and insert the brew unit. If you hear the click, then the dredge drawer.
If it doesn't click, then check the gear cog in the back and see where the large teeth are located. They should be at the 10:00 and 12:00 position. If they are not you have a broken brew drive. Sorry but that is a repair item.

Won't just stay in one gear. constantly doing gear changes on its own. Hardrock. Rear set, reguardless of which front gear.

This happens when the back wheel is not aligned properly with the chain. As the wheel turns the chain is being pulled to one side causing it to slip to the next set of cogs. To solve the problem first you need to loosen the wheel by opening the 2 nuts on the axel. If the chain slips inwards towards the wheel you need to move the front part of the back wheel to the left from a view point behind the bike. If it slips outwards away from the wheel then you need to move the front of the back wheel to the right as viewed from behind the bike. When the chain and cogs of the rear wheel are lined up in a straight line the problem should be solved.

Screen says brewunit blocked. Brewunit seems clear but stops in wrong position, ie not 'home' any ideas? Thanks

Hi If you remove the brew unit and put everything back with out it the brew unit. Turn th machine on and see if it will cycle? Open the door and look in the back where the brew unit was. There is a cog in the back with teeth. There are 2 large teeth, and they should be at the 10 and 12:00 position roughly. If they are anywhere else you have a broken drive and need to get the gears replaced. If they are in the correct position check the front of the brew unit where the circles are. There are 2 diamonds and they should be pointing at each other. if they are not you need to bring them together with the key tool. Insert it into the center of the circles and turn until they line up, then put back into the machine, and see if it will work. If it still doesn't you have a bad board.
