I'm having a problem with mine saying that the left cartridge is INCORRECT. But, it's not! I have it placed in the printer exactly the way it should be and just like the color ink (which is not saying incorrect) I just bought this printer last night, so haven't been able to do anything at all, because of the ink error. I did notice that the little gold boxes are a little chipped on the black ink cartridge (left) and it looks old, so could this be the problem?!?! The color ink cartridge doesn't look that way. These ink cartridges came with the printer, so they should be new!

Right catridge not correct

Make sure you are inserting the correct cartridge versions for your Lexmark X5470 printer. Color cartridges compatible for your model are #33 and #35.
Try to re-insert the right cartridge into the printer. If that doesn't help, remove the right cartridge from your printer again. Close the printer cover. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds. When the printer turns on, re-insert your right cartridge. Close the printer cover and check for any errors. Try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.
If the problem continues, try to do the Clean Cartridge function from the printer operator panel. On Copy mode, press the Menu button > select Tools > select Maintenance > select Clean Cartridges. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.
If the error still appears on the display screen, you probably have a faulty cartridge. Please replace it with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge.

My printer continues to say that my left cartridge is incorrect and my right cartridge is incorrect. I have misplaced my printer booklet.

- Make sure you are inserting the correct cartridge versions for your model. The Lexmark X5470 uses 32 or 34 black cartridge and 33 or 35 color cartridge.
- Ensure that both your cartridges have plenty of ink in them and not empty.
- You can also try to insert different known working cartridges to determine if what you're currently using is faulty or not.
- Try to remove the cartridges from your printer > close the printer cover > unplug/re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it > when the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges.
Hope this helps.

Replacement color cartridge is not shaped the same as the original color cartridge and does not fit into the cartridge slot.

Make sure you are inserting the correct cartridge versions in your Lexmark printer. The Lexmark X5470 uses the 32/34 black cartridge and 33/35 color cartridges.
If these are the cartridges you are inserting, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Make sure you are inserting the correct cartridges for your model. The Lexmark X5470 uses 32 or 34 black cartridge and the 33 or 35 color cartridge.
Try to follow the steps below to identify and fix the problem:
  1. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Check the encoder strip (transparent strip usually found behind the cartridge carrier) and make sure it has not gotten unseated from its position.
  2. Close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  3. When the printer turns on, check for any errors on the printer display screen. If "alignment problem" error appears, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.
  4. If no error appears, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the cover and check for errors.
  5. Reinsert the other cartridge.
  6. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. It may be faulty. You may also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the cartridge you're currently using is defective.
If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

I refilled a 33 colour cartridge still says low

I would like to inform you that Lexmark printers does not support refilled cartridges. Please note that #33 cartridge is know as a rushmore cartridge and in this cartridge it has memory chip on it to identifiy the ink estimation. hence it is not possible to change the low ink indication.

Please note: using refilled cartridge may void ur printer warranty.
