Look on page 115 under maintenence. Follow the instructions down to where it says Belt Unit, instead, find Fuser Unit then continue with reset instructions. Hope this helps.

I have a Brother HL 4070CDW printer and the Dum end soon light will come on daily. What does this mean and how do I fix this problem? If you need to please call me at 412-452-5975. Thank You, Rebecca...

Hi there !

Don't worry, it does not detect any hardware failure. Drum end near means that your toner is lower and soon it will end.

If you just replaced new toner and still drum end near message comes up. Just make a hard reset of your printer by removing the cartridge and turning off the printer in 5-10 minutes. Then return the cartridge and try to print again. It will refresh the memory of the printer and the message will disappear.

I hope it helps you.

My printer stopped printing with a message Drum End Soon. What does this mean is there something I have to do? K

Hello,

You will need to replace the Drum Unit.

The part number is DR110CL and can be purchased directly from Brother. Click here.

Please refer to the User Guide. Here is a link:

HL-4070CDW User Guide

See page 105.

You might also try to find one from a third party. Just Google the part number above for some results.

Drum Units are not cheap. This one runs from about $150 to $200. The unit is good for about 17,000 pages according to the manual.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Brother 4070cdw waste toner is there a way to empty it

Messy.
Best to replace the waste toner collection unit.

This is a user replaceable, consumable part.

I have the Brother HL-4070CDW and I have a TONER LIFE END message and it will not allow me to print anymore. How can I make my printer keep printing until I see visible quality issues?

With the front access door open, press and hold the cancel button. While still holding the down the cancel button, press and hold the reprint button... you should now see the toner reset menu. Why we can't get there from the machine info/reset menu to begin with, well, guess Brother wants to sell you more toner. ;^)
