This could be a transistor fault on the convergence board. You can diagnose with a can of freeze spray.
Freeze Spray works because of the way silicon chips such as transistors fail. If they are intermittent, then they'll work okay when cold. But as they heat up they'll flip to a failed status. A quick blast with Freeze Spay cools the component quickly enough to revert it back to its working status for a few seconds. That's long enough with a fault like yours to see the convergence flick back to good.
You'll have to work out for yourself where the convergence board is though.
First of all press F8 key several times before window boots and then select last known good configuration otherwise go in safemode and then set the screen resolution to minimum.
I just fixed my for less then 1 minute. Here was the problem, when turn on the PC with the monitor connected. The screen appear like normal for about 2 seconds then shut off black but the GREEN power LED stay on, if i press the power off and turn it back on the screen act the same thing.
Here how to fix it, turn off the PC, unplug the monitor power cable then plug it back. The power LED will stay amber. Hold down both brights minus - and plus + same time, turn on the PC, keep hold the - and + buttons press the power button turn on the monitor.
You will see the screen back on, just hold for about 10 more seconds till you see the screen seem to stay on fine then realse them. That's it how i fixed my.....GOOD LUCK
Before you began replacing components, did you check for engine codes or the transmission fluid level ? Who determined to replace the two parts that you mention ?
Try this as follows:
1) Remove any ATI graphics drivers from your PC.
2) Install your driver from the original disc.
3) if it works, ok, if not, update to the latest driver from ATI's website.
4) if that doesnt work, try to maunally delete registery entires of ATI, IN SAFE MODE of course. then remove the driver of ATI, then install it from CD, again, if it works, ok, if not, update it from ATI website.
