Hello pruittdarryl,

Does the amp turn off when you remove the remote wire? If it does, then wire a toggle switch into the remote wire and just use it to turn the amp on and off. If the amp does not turn off with the remote wire removed, there is probably a short between the 12V+ and remote terminals. In that case, the amp is probably defective. If it is OK otherwise, you could still use it by putting a heavy duty toggle switch into the power wire itself.

Hope this helps.

Kicker amp 350.4 blows fuses

Check your wiring for any exposed. Make sure there are no wires touching and that you have the proper gauge wiring for that size amp. I used 4 gauge with that same amp and never had an issue.

Check the impedance of the speaker to be sure that it matches the output of the amp. Common error on this detail can cause the amp to overheat and shutdown/protect.

Wont turn on

Hi there,
try the following;
disconnect your remote lead, connect the remote terminal to the positive terminal with a piece of wire. If the amp powers up then the remote output from your headunit is at fault. You can connect the remote lead to a switchable live at the headunit end to work around this problem. The amp will switch off when you switch the ignition off and vice versa.
If that doesn't work then there may be a problem with your positive feed so check your fuse (there should be one near your battery where you see the amp cable connect)
If that doesn't work, check how secure your earth lead is, kicker amps use a lot of power so these connections need to made to a clean metal surface. Scrape the paint away if you need to, make sure you have bare metal to connect to.
Lastly, if you have only just installed the amp, check that you have thick enough power cable. As I said before, the amp will draw a lot of current, if the main power cable is too thin then you may not be getting enough current to power the amp.
Hope this is helpful.

My Kicker ZX-350.4 don´t shut down

I will assume that it used to and has a remote wire connected. if this is the case the only things I can think of would be the remote wire is disconnected/loose/damaged. if that isn't it I would look at your ground wires (all of them at both ends)
if nothing I have mention pans out then I would simply add a heavy duty switch. :)

Why is my Kicker 08zx650.4 amp turning off in my 98 Deville??

ive been hearing alot of this going on yes you had youre system proffesionaly installed but youre amp is pushing at all its got it must be pushing at 1ohms capacity loud but what you dont realize is that.. do ur home work first some amps say they can handle the power but if you read carefully it would read not stable look up amp on the net before buyin review them first ...but evrything youve got is correct its youre amp it wont burn out but you wont get continous power to ur spkrs ..i recomend installing one amp on each spkr same brand if you prefer in keeping it with a crossover if you dont have one that way they wont over heat and cutt off and you will use less power and get more bass...

Wiring

provided that the memphis studio series is still 1 ohm stable you would wire each coil of each speaker like this : posive to positive negative to negetive on the speaker using 2 jumper wires then run 1 coil from each subs positive and negative the input on the amp that amp would see a 1 ohm load from both speakers as each speaker would become a 2 ohm load. from experience, memphis does not make an amplifier that is brutal enough on power for L7 15" solos, i have the st 1600 d amp running only 2 dual 4 ohm 10 L5's and it is barely enough power for them. For less money than your 2 subs cost retail I can get you brand new matching 2000 watt true competition rated and proven 1 ohm power and 2 subs that would physically fit in your current box, i would however recommend a very very large box for 2 15" squares. you can email me at [email protected] , my advice and system designs are always free even if you do not buy thru me. I am usually 1/3 to 1/2 what retail is with full warranties and i can drop ship anywhere in the U.S.A.
