Question about Kicker ZX850.2 2-Channel Amp - 590W ZX Series 850W Bridged Mono Remote KickBass Car Audio Amplifier

1 Answer

Kicker zx850.2 and two kicker s10l72

I don`t know if i`ve made the right decision of buying the two subs (kicker S10L72(2 ohm)) for my kicker zx850.2 amp. After I bought them I thought that if I wire them I can get either 4 ohm or 1 ohm loads on each chanel. Please give me some advice on how to wire them to get the best from my audio system and if it would have been better to get the 4 ohm subs. thanx

Http://kicker.com/dvc_wiring , check this out. for that set up i would recommend either getting a mono amplifier or dual 4 ohm subs. hope that helps.

SOURCE: Rockford Fosgate 800a2 To 2 SVC 2ohm subs

Ok.. Bridge the two sub into 4ohm than bridge to amp.

So. this how it goes.

sub1 + -
to      | |
sub2 - +
=      4ohm

           From Sub
                Two
            -          +
            |           |
amp (L) - + (R)- +

This will use the full potiental of RF 800a2 amp. I believe it like 1153 watts max out.

SOURCE: i have 2 kicker l7 12 dual voice coil subs.. i

it all depends on the impendance of your subs if u have duel 4ohm or duel 2ohm, 2 duel 4ohm speakers can be wired at 1ohm to the amp, and with a kx1200.1 that would be pushin 2400 peak and 1200rms
if ya have 2 duel 2ohm speaker than you can only wire them to 2ohm and would be pushing 1200 peak and 600 rms with the kx1200, so if you have the duel 4ohm i would go with the kx1200.1 and if u have the duel 2ohm i would go with the hifoncs

I have one solo baric hooked up in a 4 ohm series to a 1000 watt kenwood amp that I've tried hooked up normal and bridged at 4 ohm. When I turn it up the sub cuts out. I've looked up a bunch of...

hello, first i would find out what ohm your sub is cause you may think your setting it up for 4 ohm you may be going 2 ohm or 8 ohm. here is the link to for wiring solo baric. http://kicker.com/wiring_diagrams

I have phase linear uv8, need to know how to get subs 2 work! Amp goes into protect mode when rca's r plugged in, there r 3 sets of preamp out puts 1 front left and front right, 2nd is rear left rear...

try testing the amp without speakers plugged in. Run the sub preamp out to the amp that you will drive the subs with, but don't wire up the subs yet. Test for protect mode kicking in.
Yes - unplug the rca ins from the amp. retest.
No - Problem lies within the sub wiring. What is the load on the amp (measure with an ohm meter)? If it is below 4ohms, chances are the amp can't dip that low. Give it more resistance by wiring it differently (series vs. parallel)

I want a reliable system.

if you bought that equipment today then your answer is yes your amp will power the subs but if i was you and you want more bass I would go with a two channel amp or even a mono block amp that will be 1 ohm stable and if you decide to do that you might want to get subs that are dual 4 ohm voice coils and run them in series that will get you 1 ohm of resistance

How do i wire a 8 ohm kicker comp 10" sub inside the box? and what is the best way to get more bump with a 600 w mtx amp and kicker comp 10" sub?

Ok, for an 8 Ohm sub, it is advisable to get another 8 Ohm sub. wire them in parallel down to a 4 Ohm load. You would wire both + wires together, and both - wires together to yield a 4 Ohm load at the amp. Majority of the amplifiers on the market are designed to give more power at a lower impedence, or Ohm load. You just have to make sure that your amp will take a 4 Ohm load. Without knowing the model of the MTX amp, I can't give more advise. However, this should be able to give you and idea of where to start. The main problem is that you have a single 8 Ohm sub in the Kicker Comp.

I have 1500 kicker amp and 2 15L7 4oh want to hook up

you can't get full power out of it because those subs can be wired series/parrallel to a 1 ohm load or just series to a 4 ohm load and you don't want to put a 1 ohm load on this amp... you need dual 2 ohm subs for this amp... I have the same setup but with dual 2 ohm subs and it is rediculous... you need to buy different subs that are dual 2 ohm or buy an amp that is stable at 1 ohm... you will only get 750 rms out of a kicker 1500.1 at 4 ohms so u will do more harm than good to your subs.

Amp 4 a Kicker S17L7

just make sure your kenwood amp can at least handle a 2ohm stereo load. Most amps now are able to .Your amps manual should list this or go online and check for that model .You basically have 2 subs in one allowing you to use one sub box in stereo mode. And just hook it up like two speakers left and right ..make sure amp has a crossover so that you only get bass at your woofer

Does two 1ohm woofer = 2 ohm

if you buy the 4 ohm subs you can drop each of them to 2 ohm and then down to 1 ohm between the two of them. going with the 2 ohm no matter how you wire them you will either get 2 ohms 4 ohms or 8 ohms. hope this helps by the way the 4 ohm solobaric and the 2 ohm are both the same price.

Dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm?

I would suggest you go with the 4ohm. It won't be a loud but it will be more stable. You will be less likely to blow up your amp with the 4ohm.
