My converter box is bad, can i fix it myself or what would it cost to fix?

The code you are asking about is a o2 sensor Heater Performance Bank 1 sensor 2
In case you're wondering, where the oxygen (O2) sensor that the code P0141 is accusing of being BAD is... it is located on the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter. The part or the sensor would be around $60 to $79 dollars at your parts store. Hope this helps.

what symptoms, dead car, runs bad, what?
well do the tune up, (cars for dummies read that) i didnt name book. sorry.
then scan it , its free to cars and post the DTC errros.
if a sensor is bad, it will tell you. it bad. using codes.
if sensor really is bad replace it, if wires to it bad, fix those..
the CAT if not clogged leave it be, if must pass smog its still last.
next time post engine, can fix them unless you learn what it is.

Sounds like a problem in the amplifier. Would need to replace transistors and resistors that are bad.

Go to a shop specializing in electrical/ german cars before you accidentally do costly damage. sometimes those ignition locks can be changed very easily and quickly from someone with experience

Since this model does not have a flyback you are safe there.

All of this type of sets only sell circuit boards and no individual parts--some even slip around that and parts are not available.

Sound but no brightness is a common issue:

Backlight's inside not coming on.

Problem from a cable box causing main board to lock up and no brightness results--sometimes unplugging set and box will fix but not always.

Almost any circuit board in the set bad--nice one ?

The front screen unit or Panel bad--does happen and is fatal.

There are a number of different things possible, weigh the cost and age of the set and decide if you want to gamble having a shop look at it.

Most who try to repair it themselves guess and buy a board, can get expensive and is no guarantee you will actually fix the set.

My 2008 Sebring did the same thing. They had a recall on it just recently so talk to you local dealership about it.

If the on/off light is not lit, then the monitor is not receiving power for some reason.

This could be:

Power is not available, meaning the outlet maight be dead.

The power supply [power converter too, if it has a square/rectangular box as part of the powercord] for the monitor is bad, meaning it is getting power from the outlet, but nothing makes it to the monitor.

The power converter or cirucuit board in the monitor is bad nad needs to be replaced, because power is getting to the monitor, but the monitor is either not able to convert it into useable current, or the circuit board within the monitor is damaged.

You can find out which is going on by doing the following:

Grab a $10 voltmeter at your hardware store and check the power coming from your outlet, then plug the power cord/converter into the outlet and check the other end for same. Note: If your power cord has a converter on it, check to make sure the voltage/amps are the same as what is printed on the label of power converter. If those are all good, then your monitor needs repair. get a quote first before allowing any work to be done, as it could cost more to fix this than a new monitor would cost.
