yes the auxilary jack port can be used for mp3 players I know this sounds stupid, but try pressing the source button until the display says 'AUX' Hope this helps
Here's a link to the wiring color code for the Mazda 626. This link is to downlaod a copy of the DEH-P4700MP owners manual. The wiring diagram is on page 50. You can simply connect the wires by function to the vehicle wiring. But a better solution to avoid cutting or tapping into the vehicle wiring is to purchase an aftermarket wiring harness. The Metra part number 70-7901 appears to be the correct harness for your vehicle and is available from Crutchfield for $12.99.
Did you use a harness to connect the wires?
Could be the power line (red) is connect to the ACC (Accessory) orange line, so every time you switch off the vehicle the power to the stereo is interrupted.
Disconnect the battery cable from the vehicle for at least 5 minutes. if this does not fix your problem, the radio will need to be replaced or serviced. Good Luck
With your key on, press and hold the Source button until the unit turns off. Then press and hold the FUNC button to enter the settings menu. Press and release the FUNC button again until you get to the clock display. Then use the deck's left and right control buttons to select whether you're adjusting hours or minutes, and use the up and down buttons to make the adjustments. When you're done press Source again.
Yeah, the faceplate isn't making good contact with the rectagular (rectangular metal connector the faceplate connects to electronically). My best suggestion is to try to remount the unit so the faceplate fits more precisely, or cleaning the metal contacts with a pink rubber eraser like that found on a regular #2 pencil. Rubbing alcohol might also be a viable agent for cleaning the contacts.
