Here's the full story. My Braun Series 7 razor worked beautifully. But last year I ended up out of the country without my charge cable for WAY longer than expected. Because I only needed the razor for short bursts at a time it managed to last several months without a charge but then finally died. It was then left unused for many months afterward. Upon returning home I plugged it in but it still would not work and the battery would not charge. I figured I killed the battery by leaving it uncharged all year so I ordered a replacement. But still, the battery will not charge and the razor will not turn on even when plugged in. I've tried plugging into both the cleaning station and the charger directly but the razor remains dead either way. The cleaning station does indeed power on so I know the problem is not the cable. Did I kill the razor by leaving it unused for so long? I understand how it would kill the battery but I do not understand what other damage would occur that would kill the whole razor even with a brand new battery installed. It does not show any sign of life at all. And it was taken good care of and seems to be in good condition otherwise. Thank you.

first check the power at the outlet if it is an electric version. If you have batteries, make sure they're charged fully. You can also test the motor and switches to make sure they're functioning properly.
The drive unit is probably not seated correctly. It must be pushed down when reassembling in order to keep the motor contacts in the correct position until the case is secured
I have a Braun 7 series that I use occasionally. The last time I tried to charge was unsuccessful. After several days on the charger still would not charge, I discovered the RESET button right under the Braun name. The charger cable has to be unplugged, then press reset with a paper clip and now works like a charm. Note: reset will not work if charger cable is plugged in.
These cleaning/charging units are prone to going bad. There are no parts for them, so, you will need to replace it.
You will find at shaveroutlet.com Braun Series 7 and Pulsonic Clean Charge Base
