First, be sure all four toner cartridges are seated properly as is the transfer belt. Close the front panel, then the top panel, power-cycle the printer and try again. If that doesn't solve the issue, it sounds as if either the actuator for the front door switch is broken off (which is highly unlikely) or the door switch itself is out of position. Getting to the switch involves removing most of the panels just to get to it; not impossible, just involved and a LOT of screws, plus a small black spacer for the top-left panel hinge. If you have any kind of a warranty or maintenance agreement on the printer, DO NOT TRY THIS, you WILL void it!! You have to unplug the printer, remove the fuser from up top, then the top panel, lower the front panel and remove the transfer belt and keep it out of the way in a dark area. Remove the hinged rear panel at the rear bottom followed by the rear panel (which fits inside a side panel, something to remember when reassembling). Now the side panel. If the switch is out of position, reposition it. If it's broken, it will need to be replaced. Reassembly is in the EXACT opposite of disassembly. You may wish to forego this and get an HP authorized tech in to do this for you. Worst Case Scenario: the DC Controller board is bad. But that's also unlikely ... possible, but unlikely. Let me know how it turns out!

SOURCE: my hp 1200 printer is not printing dark enough.

If you have installed the toner cartridge correctly then it is a hardware problem called the Fuser and is the most common problem with printers...the fuser is a part of the printer which actually melts the toner onto the paper. The fuser has to get up to a high enough temperature to be able to melt the toner, if it is malfunctioning then it cannot give you a dark print. You may search google for Fuser information: Recommendation is change out fuser to repair problem. Pls rate this solution.

Does not print dark enough to read. Changed toner and adjusted print darkness feature. Still does not work. Any idea what to do?

Hi

When printing, just adjust the PRINT QUALITY to PHOTO because I believe your print quality is set to TEXT. I am sure it will print move darker than before.

I hope it helps you solve your problem.

Scanner error 20 in hp laser jet m1319f

HP Printer Error Code 20 is a very common error on HP printers, which will show when your printer does not have the correct settings / configuration to enable it to be used properly. The error will generally show when you try and print a document on your HP printer, and will claim that the "Printer Is Not Activated". Although there are multiple causes of this specific error, the good news is that it is very easy to fix if you know what to do.
The error you're seeing will typically show like this:
•"Printer not activated - Error code 20′
The reason for HP Printer Error 20 to show is mainly down to the way in which Windows is continually trying to use the printer, and does not have the right settings / options for it. Printing a document with an HP Printer Error 20 is actually quite a feat, and your PC needs to have your printer set up in just the right way in order to achieve that.

Fortunately, there's a very simple and effective way to repair the Printer Error 20 in the most effective way possible - by using the steps outlined in this article.

The way to fix Printer Error 20 is to first ensure that your HP Printer is set up to be the default printer on your PC. It's often the case that the printer you have on your system will either not be the default, or will have some sort of error that will prevent it from being properly used. To make sure this problem is not an issue, you should click onto "Printers & Faxes" on your system and then right click onto your HP Printer, and select "Set As Default". This will allow your PC to use the printer every time you print, removing some confusion.

After setting your HP Printer to be the default printing device for your system, you should then look to reinstall the printer on your PC to prevent Error 20.
You can do this by clicking onto "Device Manager" and then removing the printer from your system. On top of that, you should also look to remove any third party HP printer driver software from your PC, and install it again after a restart.

-Finally, you should also use a registry cleaner tool to fix the HP Printer Error 20. Registry cleaners are software tools which can fix any of the damaged settings and errors that your system might have inside. These tools are highly popular, and are used by 1,000's of people every day to help fix a variety of errors on your system. One of the biggest problems facing the HP Printer error 20 is the way in which many people's computers will actually have an incorrect file / setting inside the registry that's leading the error to show. To ensure this problem does not cause your system to become damaged, you should make sure that you can fix any registry errors Windows has.

Or the error may come like this :

Error code 20 Problem: "Not Enough Disk Space" error message
Possible Cause: Your computer needs free disk space to complete a print job. The amount of disk space required depends on the size of the file you're printing.

Solutions:

•A large print job has exceeded the memory capacity of the printer. Verify that the SIMMS or memory cards are seated. Add more memory or simplify the print job. Remember the original HP Laserjet has only 128K of memory available, the LJ+ has only 512K and neither one is really upgradable.
•On the 5P turn the image adapt and page protect to ON or AUTO. These can be set within the Remote Control Panel. Press GO to resume printing.
•On the 5L, set the Enhanced I/O to AUTO (PCL mode) and resend the print job
•Windows XP, click Start and then click Control Panel. Click Printers And Other Hardware and Printers And Faxes. In the Printers And Faxes window, from the File menu, click Server Properties, then click the Drivers tab. This shows the settings in your printer's driver. Compare the settings in this dialog box with the ideal settings in your printer's manual. If you see a discrepancy in these settings, the printer may simply need a new driver and delete old one. You can download printer drivers from the printer manufacturer's Web site.
• Get more help. Installing a new driver won't solve every printer woe, of course, so understanding printer's manual and Windows' built-in Help system will give you an even sharper troubleshooting edge.

Printed pages come out with dark lines under each line of print

Find your printer's "Maintenance" menu, in its "Toolbox" or from the Start Menu.

Preform a cartridge or head cleaning, that should solve your issue. If not, try replacing the cartridges with new ones.

Hope I helped,
Tom
