Even though it doesn't seem like it's coming from your freezer, morre than likely that's where it's coming from. At the back of the fridge there will be a drip tray that actually catches the water from the thawing freeze. One way to avoid access water is to simply turn down your freezer and fridge. Usually if they are number 0-10, both frigde and freezer should be set on the 5 level.

Why is water leaking into the refrigerator from the freezer?

The defrost drain in the freezer is clogged. The defrost water then overflows and runs down the vent where the cool air enters the fresh food section and makes a puddle on the top shelf. You may defrost the unit over nite or have a tech come check it. If you just defrost it and there is some type of debris in the drain line that will not melt then you will still need a service man. Or if you feel brave, and can be totally careful so you will not get cut remove the back wall of the refrigerator after you unplug it and get some towels and boil some water. Gentle pour the hot water into the area below the evaporator, ( the thingy with all the aluminum fins), You will eventually hear the water emptying into the pan beneath the refrigerator. Once you hear that you can reassembly and resume operations.

if it has ice/water in the unit, check the hoses going from the supply line at the inlet valve on the refrigerator rear section,if theres a hole in the tube, when the ice maker calls for water to fill the ice trays it will leak out this pin hole during the time the water supply valve is open and then shut off when the valve closes due to no pressure on the line then, thats probably the reason the puddles not always there

Could be the little red stopper at the back of the fridge on the inside has come off, and this is where the water is coming from, look inside on the lower shelf and you will see a round opening which should have a red stopper in it.

Water is leaking out from the bottom of the freezer

Below the freezer coil is a drain trough. Sounds like it is frozen. Use a hair drier to melt it and poor baking soda with warm water down it.

Whirlpool, water puddles on top shelf of fridge

If it is not from a plugged or misaligned defrost drain tube, then it is always from air leaking into your refer section. Check you door gasket to see if it is sealing correctly all around your door. Make sure your door is shutting tightly every time. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.

Leaks water inside, under the veg bins. I am sponging it out daily. Sometimes leaks onto the middle shelf and will freeze up a nice puddle.

there is a tube on some of these model that goes through the back of the fridge and onto the bottom. It is usually up high (if not under the crisper s). If its close to the freezer compartment may have Ice blocking it. If its up high and behind a ceiling cover it could have dirt and gunk stopping it up. try a soda straw and push it in the open part of the hole. see if you get anything out. You say it freezes on the shelf in the fridge compartment (Im betting on Ice blocking the hole because this is way too cold for a refrigerator with veggies. Right?)

Warm water set inside fro a few minutes to hours with the door open or a hair dryer running in it for a few minutes may defrost it and solve the problem then it may come back if there is too much air from the freezer or the thermostat is keeping it running too long.

Hope this helps and if so please rate me accordingly and good luck

Hotpoint csx22bc 21.7 cu. ft. leaking water on freezer side

Look for obstruction at the drain tray for the freezer. Common to have plastic wrap sucked into that area.Or gunk in the drain line. Blow through line to insure the gunk is not an issue.

Water leaking inside

Unforturnately, I have the same problem. You have to take the bottom panel of you freezer off. You will have ice built up. You will have to remove the ice. In the back, there is a hole that drains to the drip pan, that has become frozen solid. I have this problem about every 30 days. I wish I knew how to fix the problem. My dad has the same refigerator freezer, it's a problem for him too.
