FEDDER'S PORTABLE UNIT SAYS STOP. WONT RUN

WE HAVE A PORTABLE "FEDDERS AC UNIT" AND IT STOPPED WORKING, SAYS STOP ON THE DISPLAY. WHAT DO WE DO TO GET IT WORKING AGAIN? WE HAD IT SAYS ON WHAT LOOKED LIKE RAIN DROPS, IT HAS A COUPLE MODES BUT WE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO WORK IT SINCE THIS IS JUST A TEMP UNIT FROM OUR APARTMENTS. THE MAINTENANCE GUY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO WORK IT.

HOW DO WE GET IT WORKING AGAIN AND WHAT IS THE BEST MODE TO COOL AN APARTMENT.

Disconnect power to the unit and reconnect. If "stop" is still on the display you will probably need a qualified technician to trouble shoot. The best mode is the snowflake (cooling). The rain drop is dehumidification which can cause condesation on unit.

i would try to oil bearings on motor. that failing replace run capacitor. motor must be getting hot.

I have a Fedders portable roll around unit that is leaking water all over floor from underneath the unit. it does not look like the drain line is clogged. used to drain through hose but does not anymore....

Hello, Take a clothes hanger wire in the hole a little ways and see if it is stopped up. If that doesn't work get a can of air and blow in the hole.

Fedders a6p09s2b air conditioner is missing the rubber drainage plug on the bottom of the AC...so it leaks all over the place im trying to get another one...where do i get one? so it could stop...

Get a old fashioned cork.

Ac fedders portable

Im not sure I understand the problem. Your AC runs about 4 minutes then the compressor stops and the fan stops as well? What is the model of the air conditioner?

I have a thru the wall fedders ac unit. The heat stopped working when you turn it on it just hums.

no blower !!! or heating element is bad or switch try putting the fan on only if it works than it is probaly the switch not letting the blower on only heat

u have to be more specific. is it gas or electric. If electric check breaker first. Gas check thermocouple

Fedders Window AC Unit

I would try to start the unit with only the fan running at first. If it stays running then cycle on the compressor and see how it does. If the unit does not operate when compressor is turne on then we have to dig deeper into that.
