I have no display on the screen. Its black.

This sounds like the inverter which powers the display fluorescent has or is failed/failing. If you take a torch to the blacked out display can you see the image faintly? If so the unit needs repairing.

CHANGING THE SCREEN ASPECT RATIO: ( From Manual )
The TV can display images in four different modes: Wide, Zoom, Panoramic, and Normal. Each mode displays the picture differently. To change the screen aspect ratio:
1. Press the MENU button on the remote.
2. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight the Wide icon. Press OK.
3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight your desired screen mode and press OK:
• Normal preserves the content's original aspect ratio. Since the 4:3 aspect ratio is not large enough to fill the TV's screen, black bars are added to the left and right of the display image.
• Wide stretches a 4:3 aspect ratio picture to the edges of the screen. Since the picture is being stretched, the display image may appear distorted. If the program is already formatted for widescreen viewing (1.85:1 or 2.35:1), then black bars will appear on the top and bottom of the display image.
• Zoom expands images with black bars to fit the screen.
• Panoramic expands the display image to fill the screen.
images may appear wider than intended.
If you are watching widescreen (1.85:1 or 2.35:1) content, black bars will still appear on the top and bottom of the display image. This option is only available when the TV is displaying a 480i/480p source.

Right click the desktop background, and click screen resolution. Move the slider as high as it goes, and click apply.

its looks like Operating system problem. some times its happens that you power on and its display nothing except a black screen. you need to re-install the os but before it you have to confirm that your display screen is working. for that check the display in dark place so that when you power on its screen going to slightly white if its happens than its screen is ok if its doesn't than you have to change display screen cable inside of the laptop.

My Samsung GT-E2120i phone won't work. When you turn it on all it does is display GT-E2120 SAMSUNG and then it just blinks - display/black screen/display/black screen etc. Then it won't turn off - the only way to stop it is to remove the battery.what do I do to solve this?

Try connecting to an external monitor if display screen is only showing half of my desktop, the other half goes black or flickershalf of my desktop, the other half goes black or flickers various colors then it is the video card if not....have ur display screen changed.

sounds like the backlight is going out do me a favor turn it on and put a light source next to the screen if you can see everything on your screen then its the backlight

chack your ram
your display cord may be damaged or loose chack it

Check the fuse on the inverter board F1.
