Screen goes black after a couple of seconds. The sound is fine. The screen can be illuminated, momentarily, by pressing the display button on the remote control. The picture can be seen by shining a torch onto the black screen.

This sounds like the inverter which powers the display fluorescent has or is failed/failing. If you take a torch to the blacked out display can you see the image faintly? If so the unit needs repairing.

Hello Press the "Power" button on the TV remote to turn the TV on. Press the "Display" key. Press "5," followed by the "Vol+" key, followed by the "Power" button. Wait for the service menu screen to appear on the screen. This could take anywhere from a couple of seconds up to a minute or two. Press the "Jump" key three times in rapid succession. Press "2" nine times in rapid succession Press "3" once, followed by the "Mute" key, followed by the "Enter" key. Wait as the screen flashes momentarily. Press the "Power" button on the TV to exit the "Service menu" and turn the TV off.
Press the power button momentarily to check if it is hibernating or in stand by. If this doesn't work;
Try firstly removing the laptop's
battery as it may be at a critical voltage and the system will not
start because of it. Plug in your ac adaptor and monitor what
happens. Does the power light illuminate? If it does it should then
boot up, if it doesn't, try a known good ac adaptor before going any
further. If the adaptor is fine and the laptop still won't start,
then you may have a mother board fault and should contact a
dealer/repairer for further advice. Hope this helps.
1.- Insert key into ignition, switch to position "1"
2.- Press the menu buttons repeatly until the mileage is displayed within the multifunction display.
3.- Press the cluster illumination button (trip reset button) 3 times in short succession. The battery voltage will be displayed and an audible signal will sound.
4.- Turn key in ignition to position "2"
5.- Press the Up and Down Arrow buttons until service menu appears.
6.- Press cluster illumination button (trip reset button) once. The oil type menu is displayed.
7.- Use the + and - buttons to select the oil used for service.
8.- Press the Up and Down buttons to confirm. The display will show : "Reset Oil Confirmation. Push Illumination button for 3 seconds".
9.- Press and hold the cluster illimination button for 3 seconds. The message "Service confirmed" is displayed.
Blackout Display Mode: When the
Blackout mode is activated, the display turns off to reduce power consumption.
The additional power made available by turning off the display helps enhance
sound quality. If a button is pressed during the Blackout mode, the display will
illuminate for 5 seconds before blacking out again.
Blackout Mode On and Off (CDA-9855 only)When Blackout mode is turned on, the display will turn off to reducepower consumption. This additional power enhances the sound quality.Press and hold FUNC. for at least 2 seconds toactivate the blackout mode.The display will turn off.•If any button on the unit is pressed during the blackout mode, thefunction will be displayed for 5 seconds to show the operationbefore returning to Blackout mode.To cancel Blackout mode, press and hold FUNC. for at least 2seconds.
