I have an Epson workforce 3640, the black is very spotty and you can not read much. when doing a print test black is extremely weak and spotty and the color is good

Your print head is probably clogged. If you have already tried the cleaning cycle, it's time to take the printer into an Epson repair center to find out what the problem is. More than likely they will have to replace the print head.

Hello Jaasp,

Follow these steps to print the nozzle check:

1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder.



2. Press the Home button.



3. Press or to select Setup.





4. Press OK.



5. Press or to select Maintenance, then press OK. You see this screen:





6. Select Nozzle Check, and press OK.





7. Press Start to print the nozzle check.

8. Press Finish Nozzle Check and press OK when you're done.
