Hitachi 51f500 i changed 2 ic chips stk 392 150, after replacing i turn tv on it shuts right off, i got it to stay on once but the alignment grid and color is all screwd up.

Ur tv still have dead resistors parts,test all 12 resistors parts around the 2 STK convergence ICS and changes some more dead resistors parts or changes all 12 resistors parts for sure.If tv still have the same problems after tested and replaces more resistors parts or all 12 resistors parts.Than some how when u handling and replacing the 2 STK convergence ICS and resoldering the 2 STK covergence ICS u short it out the 2 STK convergence ICS by resoldering without proper grounding ur self not to allow for static electricity to kill the 2 STK convergence ICS or u using a soldering iron to high of a wattage for doing soldering ICS work.
Yes, your Convergence ICs have failed. Replace the STK chips, check fuses and the resistors next to the STK chips. Replace as necessary and re-align via the service menu.

If you go into the customer menu and select convergence and red or blue
are skewed and will not adjust---you have a convergence circuit problem.
51f500 uses two of the STK-392-110 OR STK-392-150 convergence IC chips. Both are the same but the 150 chip is a longer lasting part than the 110 chip. Both chips and any
bad protect resistors around them need to be replaced and the set
adjusted with the Hitachi remote.
Most of the time just both chips need to be replaced and the set adjusted.
Considering
you can buy all the parts needed for under 30 dollars on Ebay if you or
someone you know can do this repair you can save a lot of money--most
shops are going to get 300 or more. I can give you general instructions
and tell you the best seller to get the chips from on Ebay---I buy the
ones I use there.

IF model number is 51F500 and you go into the customer menu and convergence will not adjust or is skewed and 3d one or both of the two convergence IC chips this set uses is bad.
Usually in this set they are either STK-392-110 OR STK-392-150----both are essentially the same part but the 150 chip is a higher current and longer lasting part.
Both chips and any of the protect resistors around them that are bad need to be replaced and the set adjusted with the Hitachi remote.
Considering you can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for about 12 dollars plus shipping, if you or someone you know can do the repair you can save the set and a lot of money.
Most shops are going to get 300 or MORE for this repair. The repair takes about a hour to do and should be able to be done right in your home---I know as I have done HUNDREDS of them here in people's homes.
