Before looking at programs to help, max out the RAM on the pc. It's the single best thing you can do to improve performance. I get mine from crucial.com.
Go online and download software direct from scanner manufacturer, this would allow u to create a desktop icon to facilitate scanning to your folders or email addresss
Place your document face down on the scanner bed. Press the button that starts the scanning process depending on your scanner or printer.
Save the scanned file to your computer by clicking "File" in the menu bar at the top of the screen, then choose "Save as." Choose the folder in which you wish to save the document from the drop-down menu in the window that popped up during the saving process. Choose a name for the document, then click "Save."
Sign on to your email account, then choose "New" or "Compose" to start a new email message. Click on "Attachments" or "Attach." Wait for a new window to pop up, then choose the file you scanned from the folder where you saved the document.
Wait a few seconds for the file to attach, compose your email message, then click "Send." Your scanned document will now be sent to the recipient's email address.
It would require that you have a scanner, installer proper scanning software that comes with said scanner, and then running it where it will give you information on where to save the scan.
When you open your e-mail, the pictures are either embeded in the body of the e-mail or as an attachment. Either way, you should be able to right click the picture or the attachment and select save as. Then navigate to your desktop and click save. You can also open the attachment and save the file from within the program that it opens in.
hello sylvia 624 do you have the scan program from brother called paperport on the desk top? well! the best and easiest way is to go to paper port on the cpu and bring up the paper port program and follow the prompts for scanning the document, i know some people scan from the machine , however i prefer to do it this way. brother tech
Since this is a network printer, you can scan to folder,FTP site or email. alot will depend on your network enviroment. SMB is the simplest. The folder you are scanning to need permission to write to the folder. If you have email you need to enter your smtp server IP address in the user tools and an senders email address. the manuals with the copier will help or download them.
