My hp printer 1320 has horizontal thick black lines and I have cleaned inside and out. How do I get rid of them. New cartridge is in also.

Every sheet I print there are 7 horizontal thick black lines all the way across my paper. I have cleaned everything that I can get to on the inside. What else can I do?

Can you measure the distance between the bands. This is usually a cartridge issue, but if you have the same problem with 2 carts, then it could be a contact issue. Check the left and right insides of the printer where the cartridge seats and check that all the little metal contacts are straight. A bent contact will not deliver the correct voltage for an image to form and often will result in this problem.

That is usually a sign that the Drum has a burned out spot. it comes out exactly the same distance, which is the circumference of the drum. replace drum and replace the black sponge roller (transfer) under drum.

SOURCE: three broken horizontal lines across all printed pages

I can see a couple of possibilities here. One: The cleaning blade for the drum could be damaged and not all of the toner is being cleaned off of the drum between pages. Two: The drum could be damaged and the damaged parts of the drum are not accepting the changes generated by the laser. I don't think you have a fuser problem because if it were that, the toner would probably smear when you touch it. Typically, I would say it is the toner cartridge but you replaced it and still got the same problem. I would inspect the drum cleaning blade first. That would be the most cost effective first option. Hope this helps. Good luck.

SOURCE: hp laserjet 4 plus - keep getting a horizontal black line

yes you have to catch printer making the line and then as a page is being printed you need to open door to stop paper after green cylinder(drum) as it is entering fuser, then you need to remove paper from printer without pulling through the fuser, if you see the line then rub your finger across line up and down page, if it smears at all then its the cartridge if not then the fuser

SOURCE: hp officejet 7310 won't print in black

You people are stupid! After the first person detailed the problem, why do you reiterate by saying "me too, me too"? People come here looking for answers, not more of the same. Here's a suggestion. If you don't have a solution, don't say anything!!!

SOURCE: black horizontal lines

Put the old cartridge back in. Print a page. If the lines go away, get another cartridge.

Hp laserjet 1320 printer printing problum the printing black black point.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

Our hp laser jet 1320 has black lines running horizontally on the page. Is there something we can do to clear this problem up?

Get the toner cartridge out from the printer, move the plastic cover so you can se the light green roller. On both ends of the roller are gear wheels, use your fingers to rotate them and see if there is any toner on the green roller (lines). Check if there is some piece of paper or some dust or dirt on the roller, and if there is, gently wipe it with the dry soft cloth.
If the problem persist, try changing the toner cartridge.

We have a HP LaserJet 1320 printer that is leaving black marks or streaks on the paper-maybe ghosting(?). We have switched cartridges and it is still appearing. Any help would be appreciated!

Vertical lines, ghosting, streaks, and dots usually indicate a problem with the fuser when it doesn't regulate temperature correctly. When this happens the toner sticks to the drums and then copies the impression on successive pages, or gets scratched by the sand papery build up making lines as each sheet goes through.

Horizontal lines, page dusting, and vacant areas on the page are usually the toner or the drum, which on most printers are one unit.

If you have replaced the cartridge and the problem didn't go away, you probably have to replace the fuser.
