I have an IBM wheelwriter 3 and when I type nothing appears. I have changed the ribbon and the print wheel.

Probably the plastic cap on the print soleniod is broken. They are available from us for 15.00 but a little tricky to install.

MY TYPEWRITER GOES ON FINE, BUT WHEN I TRY TO TYPE THE CARRIAGE DOES NOT MOVE TO TYPE THE KEYS.
SOURCE: put new ribbon cartridge in ibm wheelwriter 3 not printing now
If the ribbon is lifting up you probably have a cracked print solenoid plunger cap. They are available but a little tricky to install.

The print solenoid plunger has a plastic cap on the end of the plunger it is probably broken. They are available but you need a bit of mechanical ability to install.

Is the ribbon moving? Possible ribbon feed motor bad.Can you hear the printwheel letters hitting the paper? If not, then the solenoid pad is broken. Easy repair for a tech. A 7 to 15 dollar part depending on where you buy it. You can see it down on the left side of printwheel in front. A little round white or opaque pad. I have used a pair of tweezers and small bladed screwdriver and slipped a new in. Takes practice. Otherwise, you have to remove the carriage and take the solenoid out.
