I have an excell pressure washer vr2500 with a 6.5 hp Briggs and Stratton motor after pouring gas into empty gas tank see gas leaking from carburetor

Fuel blockage stopping the petrol from refilling the float chamber in the carburetor.

fuel cap may not be venting. try running it with the cap loose or off. if that works, replace the cap

clean carburetor jet and fuel tube located above the fuel bowl fastening screw,insert a screwdriver through carb throat and remove jet followed by a tube.

Power washers are often not used for an extended period of time. This often leads to the tiny passeges in the carburetor getting clogged with the gummy residue left when the gasoline evaporates. It is usually not old gas in the tank that is the problem as much as the residue left behind when the gas evaporates in the carburetor. Cleaning those ports ( orifices) is usually what is needed.
If your machine has a fuel shut-off valve you can save a lot of time , trouble and money by closing the fuel shut-off valve and continuing to pressure spray water until the engine empties the carburetor bowl of fuel and stops. With no fuel in the carburetor the ports will stay clear.

Could be that the needle is stuck in carb, or else the fuel pump diaphragm is bad. Check the pump, thats what I would check first.

Fuel is not reaching the carburetor from the tank. Look for bad fuel line, or plugged fuel filter. Hope this helps!

It is a diaphram carb. Doe's the primer **** straight gas or does it have air bubbles in it? If it has bubbles in it then it is a leak in the fuel line.
If not then Unhook the intake fuel line and pump the bulb until all of the gas is out of it. Then pour the gas out of the tank and rinse it out with new gas. Pour in new gas and it should be ok.

Is your air filter dirty? If so replace it. If it is still doing the same thing try this:

Turn off the fuel valve, or drain the gas tank, then place a rag under the bowl to catch the gas that will run out (the bowl is under the carburetor). Loosen the "nut" that holds the bowl on, and after the gas has stopped draining remove the nut and bowl. Blow out with compressed air, if available. Put the bowl back on and try to start it. If it still will not run off choke, the carburetor probably needs a good soaking or to be replaced.

Drain oil... it is full of gasoline due to a bad float pin and rubber gromet in your carb. When your float pin and gromet fail, gas just keeps flowing into your carburetor, eventually flooding your motor with gas and oil mix.
