Have you dropped the DS? It could be that the ribbon cable on the bottom LCD has come adrift. Does the top screen display the Nintendo logo when switched on?

You can get a third party to replace it if you want, but I would actually recommend sending it to Nintendo.
Unlike
Sony and MS, Nintendo has awesome repair services. They will do any
repair under (1 year) warranty for free and if it's not under warranty
then they will still do it for cheap. It cost me something like $96 (in
Canada) after shipping.
They are also very quick, usually in a week you'll have your system back.
The
best part is, whether your system is under warranty or you pay for the
repair, you get a renewed 1 YEAR warranty with Nintendo, this is far
better than Sony and MS who only do 90 days!
Yes, the Bottom LCD is dead. You will have to exchange it.
Below I have two links you should follow through. One to purchase a bottom LCD for a very cheap price and the other will show you how to replace the bottom LCD.
REMEMBER.. To place a plastic pad under the bottom lcd so it doesn't ground out the board. Forgetting to do this could potentially blow a fuse and you will have to replace those!!
the bottom LCD display has went bad, This is a common problem and I would be happy to fix it for you by replacing the bottom LCD display screen! Thanks Josh
Your problem is with the LCD behind the touch screen. The bottom scren on your DS is actually two screens. An LCD and a touch screen on top of it. Either your cable has come loose inside the DS or the LCD is possibly bad. This can be fixed.
The other option is that the electronics feeding the LCD have gone bad in which case you might as well buy a new DS. But check the screen first.
If the DS is under a year old you can send it to Nintendo for free repair.
Hi I have a problem with my bottom screen as well. I was replacing the case as the hinge was broken. When i was putting it back together i noticed a slight tear in the ribbon cable which is attached to the board and the bottom screen. When I turned it on I found I had poor colour and contrast in the bottom screen however the top screen was fine. Where this ribbon cable is attached to the board there is two small cables attached to the board beneath it, maybe one of these has come away and needs repositioning or your bottom screen needs replacing.Try this site for diy tipshttp://site.powergamingparts.com Cheers Chris
I know you replaced both top and bottom, and I am assuming that you placed the touch screen as well? it would be the touchscreen that is not working or you did not connect right.
