Trio Refrigerator, lights inside stay on when the door is shut, causing massive heat to build up. I can't tell if the fridge is still cooling itself, i.e. it knows the doors are shut. I unscrewed the light bulbs, what do I do next?
Check the door frame for a protruding small lever that gets pushed down when the door closes. If one is visible, that should be the light switch, which probably went bad and needs to be replaced. Without a model # hard to say how the light are set to go off, but most use the above method, hope this helps.

this unit has a history of the light circuit failing and it will cause the lights to either stay on or off. if they stay on, it will melt the housing around the upper bulb area. it has a recall and should be covered by sears for no charge. it is the control board failure and has a sticking relay for the light circuit, needs board replaced.
the 3 beeps are the unit thinking it has a door open. turn off the alarm on the door control board and call sears 800 # for repair.

There is a factory update for this problem. You need a new control board and light parts.
SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Trio Refrigerator not cooling
No, it is not a failed condenser. You need to see if the compressor is running though. When it runs you shaould have a fan in the freezer running, a fan underneath the fridge running, and the compressor should be running. I would be willing to bet that either the compressor is bad, or the start relay on the compressor.

check the over-load/contactor on the side of the compressor, remove it and shake it if it rattles, replace it

SOURCE: Help....kenmore trio refrigerator, error message "er co"
The Er Co error code signifies a communication error between the display control board on the freezer door and the main power board on the outer back panel of the refrigerator.
Check the wiring and connections between the low voltage interface and the main high voltage board.
If you are able to unplug the refrigerator and remove the cover over the control board on the back of the refrigerator,
you can check the wiring connection on the main control board.
If this wiring connection is okay, check the wire harness connection under the hinge cover on the top of the left hand refrigerator door.
If these connections are okay, then you will need access the wire harness connection in the dispenser.
