I just had the same thing happen yesterday. The Sears repairman has been and gone, and he has advised me that LG has issued a Service Alert for the problem. They have created a new panel for the fridges with a thermostat that measures the temperature of the lights and shuts them off if they get too hot. In addition, he is going to replace the motherboard of the computer in the fridge. I feel that LG should send notifications to retailers that sell this product and that every purchaser of these fridges made in 2006 should be alerted to this potential problem.

when half of the display goes out, it is giving you an error code telling you what is wrong with the fridge.Unplugging it simply resets the computer until the error comes back typically within a few hours. without knowing what is lit up, it is difficult to help you so I would recommend putting the error code "which bars are lit up" in a comment so we can diagnose further

it is not a great idea turning a fridge off and back on straight away. It will overload the compressor and cause it to trip out. I would suggest that the starter relay has failed on the compressor but if the fridge has been left to cycle on and off too many times, it will damage the compressor. Turn it off and get a fridge tech to look at it and confirm the fault.

The control board has relays on it that are not user replaceable unless you can solder. You also must be able to find them since they are integral to the control board. I have attached the board info to this post. sounds like when you moved it you created an air lock, when moving fridges etc. should always leave for 24 hrs to settle before plugging in.... , no guarantee but try laying it down and leaving overnight then stand it up again and leave for at least 24 hrs for the refrigerant to try and sort itself out. UNPLUGGED from mains of course... good luck

Your ice maker freezer fan may be iced up. Take the freezer bin out and look at the back of the freezer. If there is ice built up, you have to defrost it.

Awhile back, LG had a problem with "icing-up" in the freezer around the fan blade. They came up with a different Main PCB which lengthened the defrost cycle and adjusted the freezer fan cycling times.

ff is fresh food may be the ff thermisor but i would first check the freezer back wall is it frosted up can you hear the fan in the freezer blowing the air up to the ff section
