They don't have a huge selection at home depot but you are able to get one there.

Am installing a Moen hand held shower ("Propel"). The instructions say I should install a backflow preventer. Where does that get installed? Inside the wall, or on the shower fixture itself?

Just buy a backflow preventer and install it in-between the pipe coming out of the wall and the shower head. Most (all?) shower heads have 1/2? standard pipe thread. Home Depot sells a backflow preventer with 1/2? standard pipe thread for $6.97.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Can I use self-fusible tape to fix leaking pipe?

Lowes and Home Depot now sell a water activated fiberglass tape that works for what you want to do. I tried in on a pressure pipe and it held pressure and didn't leak. Just read the instructions twice and install it according to instructions and you should be fine.

Dont know how to hook up the drain pipe

The drain pipe in what? If we are talking about a sink, they sell multi size kits at lowes, home depot and any other hardware store. You need to know the size of the outlet from the sink and the size of the drain pipe you are connecting to.

Broken blade andblade arm on ceiling fan

Go to your local Home depot or visit www.homedepot.com . I know they sell ceiling fan blades and arms at My local Home Depot in Ma, but depending on your location you may have to go to their website instead, I can only say...if they sell it in the store, more than likely they will have it on the website.

Good Luck with your repair.

I have a badger 9 garbage disposal unit, and it leaks after installing from the discharge outlet at the top of the discharge tube under the side flange. I replaced a badger 1 and I used the old gasket as...

Location of leak is not known for sure.
Sounds like leak is where tubular drain pipe connects to side of disposal?
If leak is where disposal connects to sink, typically this connection is sealed using plumbers putty.

Open following link for disposal instructions:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r6568559-post_photograph_fixya_questions_answers

1) If leak is at rubber gasket for tailpiece connection on side of disposal:
I don't know if your local home depot sells gaskets. Probably not sold separately.

2) Go to home depot and take rubber gasket out of a new garbage disposal box.

3) Or buy new disposal with a gasket, use the gasket and return disposal saying that part was missing..

4) To seal old gasket, use rectoseal white pipe joint compound.
Cover the gasket with rectoseal and then assemble parts.
Open following link above for photo of rectoseal.
I always use rectoseal on tubular drain connections for 100% seal first time every time.

Flapper closes way to quick. Have to hold handle down for complete flush. This is in an Amer. Stand. toilet. I have adjusted the chain and the flapper dail with no help. I work in the plumbing Dept. at...

Hi, American Standard uses a special large type of flapper that is designed for it. If I recall correctly,
It is black plastic with a device designed to delay the closing of the flap. It also has a special chain that is not like other flappers. Home Depot should stock these flappers. Fluidmaster makes a version of it that they sell.
Hope this helps,
Best Regards,

I want to cut 2 7/8 inch pipe to make a 90 degree elbow, not a corner but a sweeping corner. I know how to cut 2 45's to make a corner but I want the corner rounded.

They make pipe benders for you application. They are quite inexpensive. If you want to do it your self you can. Remember the total number of degrees you want is 90. Each cut is half the angle. Example 45+45=90. 30+30+30=90. and so forth.

I don't know your application but they sell larger radias 90 degree rigid conduit elbows at Home Depot or Lowes.
