Hold the origin button for greater than 1 second. You may need to use a point tool to push the button all the way down.

Could this be the battery?

This is a bad earth connection . Run a new cable from the battery to the engine or transmission , then run a cable from the engine or transmission to the body . No more trouble.

HI,
The is a screw behind readout Read out unit which we can see through a hole. Remove the the screw and detach out the back cover. Remove the battery wire for the socket and dismadle the battery. your battery is bad. Happened to me a month ago. I checked the alternator, it was fine. I put a new battery in ,and has been trouble free. I had no warning, other than it was the factory battery and it was5 years old.

I just put a new ignition in it's a in dash cylinder security light is flashing, and the car will not start

try turning the key on and letting it flash for 15-20 minutes... it should stop and then you can start it. I usually put a battery on a jumper cable so it does not kill yours while doing that. (just a battery you don't need to jump to a running car)

No digital readout on home thermostat. No backlight either.

Turn the Furnace off, Disconnect the R and W thermostat wire from the control board located usually in lower compartment of furnace, the blower
is usually mounted behind it.

Make sure the 2 wires you disconnect are going to
R(usually power) and W(usually Heat) other terminal
markings are y(for cool) g(for fan). After Disconnecting the R and W wires Turn the furnace
back on. You will probably have to hold a door switch
in to complete the circuit. If everything is correct the
furnace should not run.

This is more than likely that you have the R and W
wires touching eachother and you need to get them seperated.
