SOURCE: doesn't seem to see disc. reporst disc error.

It is possible that you have a disc with a format that is not supported by your player. This can happen for many reasons. If your player will play a new standard DVD it is most likely the other disc that is the problem. Every player is different. Some new less expensive players will play almost any thing. A newer better quality player may not play as many formats. Besides the issue of format you can find security issues with either old discs or more likely an older player. Discs that are a problem more often are discs that have been burned copied or down loaded or produced by a company that uses a format that is not as widely used. The last problem is common with work out videos and generic movies / kids programs . You may also check to see if your player can except a software update.

SOURCE: dvd sometimes reads error

If this problem occurs only at this dvd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a cd/dvd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alchohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. That way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd/dvd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush".

SOURCE: will not play disc.keeps saying

Check for fingerprints or dirt on your DVD. Wipe it clean and try again. Also check for scratches. Try another DVD and see if your system reads it. If it does not try cleaning the drive laser lens with a CD lens cleaner available at places such as KMart or WalMart in the electronic section. If that still does not work chances are you laser on your drive is bad and needs replaced. It will need servicing.

How do I fix a No Disc error given by my VIZIO Blu-Ray player?

Have you checked to see if the software is current on your player? If so do other discs function properly? Go to menu, chek to see current software, if current you can contact mfg. To see if it in fact current. Sometimes they have to be uptaded via cd. Retun disc to store get new one, try it to make sure. I have two 3d bl ray players and neither will play them. Software is not updated for these discs.

No disc message from player

Blu Rays are more complicated from a information point of view--you most likely have either a dirty or bad (failing) optical pickup in the player--this always shows up first with blu rays.

Device will not play previously recorded discs or record new info, but will play shop bought discs.on occasions it will display disc error. i am using new discs.

I Have had this same problem with DVD recorders. They sometimes will not play disc that were recorded on another player, you have to play these on the recorder that you used to make the recording. When recording you must finalize the discs to get them to play in other recorders, if they aren't finalized then the dvd wont recognize them as being recorded, there is no starting point set on the disc for the laser to pick up on. I have also ran into discs bought at the store that were not any good and I couldn't record on them, or when I did I would get the disc error message also. Try another brand of disc, say Memorex or Soney amd see if these will work, make sure they are compatible with the player, and they are the correct format for your player. There are 2 types DVD -R and DVD + R the + R work better on a wider range of players.

Disk error message

In the manual there is a list of discs the unit wil play. On the last pages there is a quick reference. There are also region codes that need to be set. Maybe a power outage reset your settings. Also it would be good to know if this unit played disc previously, plays other disks? Or the discs play on other players. It could just be a dirt problem as well.
