Every time, I switch on my Samsung LCD TV LA37A550P1R, always the volume automatically goes to the max. Then, I have to manually reduce the volume. Also, while doing so, it leaves a mark on the lcd screen, which looks very much like a bar-code, which remains there until the lcd tv is switched off. Again, when I switch off the lcd tv and switch on, the volume again goes to the max and while reducing the volume the same irremovable mark is created. Please suggest what I can do myself to solve this problem, before consulting an authorized service center. Thanks in advance
Check your manual for resetting the TV to 'Factory Default'. I have heard of this happening before. It may need you to press a combination of buttons on your remote. Usually you have to be pressing the buttons in sequence with the TV in standby, then wait for a service menu to appear. Look through this menu for the words 'Factory Reset'. It may be in a sub menu. The TV may well switch itself back off and then on again. At which point your problem should have gone away.
You may need to do a reset to 'factory default' on the tv to get rid of this problem. Check your user manual to find out which buttons you press to get to the service menu. Start with the tv OFF in standby, press the required buttons and then look for 'factory default' on the menu, it may be in a sub menu. The TV may well switch itself off and on again to apply the factory settings. Your problem should have gone away by then.

Press and hold the menu button (either on the remote or the display itself). Other forums have said you only have to hold it down for 10 seconds, but that isn't accurate. I had to hold my menu down for about 30-45 seconds to unlock the OSD.
