Please remove the batteries from the remote and check whether it is possible to use the local keypad on the TV? If the volume increases, it may be a problem in the local keyboard.

set the volume down extremely low power the tv down by plugging out and put on again should be then at set volume,the tv's now days have memory so it should start up at volume preset

As a repair man I always hated that--had to disconnect the speakers and use a scope.

Most likely reason is the volume up control---a micro switch beneath the manual button on the set is bad.

These are momentary switches--only supposed to work when touched/pushed---they will feel good but have failed and are making contact all the time instead of just when pushed.

Only way to prove or disprove this is get at the keyboard and in your case locate (they can with set off be checked for resistance--should be no reading) is locate that volume up switch and unsolder it.

If problem is gone (your ears feel better) you have two choices : live with the switch removed and operate for that function with the remote.

Usually they only sell the complete circuit board with all the buttons for a set.

I would if could control volume just live with it gone.

This happens on our samsung too with some dvd's.
It is not the tv's fault (in my case) but have to turn the volume button on the dvd remote up full first then adjust from the tv remote as required.

If it happens when you only turn on the tv, it could be a factory setting, i suggest turning volume all the way down before shuting off unit and turning it back on. if it happens whislt watching tv, or at random, i feel you may have a problem with your audio output circuitry, Good luck.

definately sounds like a control board has overheat issue and will need replacing

The sound level is not memorated .Try input in the memory the sound level use to remote control and read the owners manual for setting the tv.

Some models have a volume limit setting, check the MENU and look at the audio settings.
If this has external speakers use other speakers. If it has audio output connect them to a external amp and useing the remote adjust the volume. Check if audio settings are set to internal, external and fixed or vairable output.

try this..turn off ur tv by remote,press mute followed by 187 then power,if this work u shall see reset underneath the sub menu goto reset..the tv must turn off and on.donot explore other u might kill your tv!!
