We just purchased WeatherstationWS-908ou-IT--is there some way to fix the outside temperature--only part of the nos. show.

Locate and remove the outside temperature sensor located in the left side rear view mirror on these North American S70's. When this sensor goes bad, the DIM display shows -34 ----

No outside temperature just shows the temperature outside the car the snowflake symbol will not show up until it is cold enough outside it has 2 stages yellow is an initial warning of cold temperatures when it gets to freezing the symbol will turn red.
The outside temp warning is not connected to anything mechanical only the engine temerature gauge is so dont worry it will not affect the running of the car but is just there as a warning of falling temperatures outside.

Nurit OSP Loader is the the program we use to remove the TAMPER error. Replacing the internal battery and reloading a fresh NOS (nurit operating system) will remove the error. If you have lost the outside temperature on the clock display then do the following:-

1. Make sure you have good batteries installed in the remote transmitter
2. Remove the batteries from the main clock and keep them out until the clock display disappears.
3. Re-install the batteries in the clock.
4. Wait until the display returns and includes the outside temperature display as well.
5. Set the clock again for current time/date etc.

Check the batteries in the main unit. If they get low it will only show dashes for the remote sensors.

Check the air filter and clean as necessary.
Check the evaporator coil (the coil behind the air filter) and check the condensor coil (the coil outside the window) for cleanliness and clean as necessary. Check the fresh air intake damper and make sure that it is closed.
Also check the temperature of the air entering the unit (in front of the filter) and the temperature of the air leaving your unit (blowing into the room). The temperature difference should be approx 20degF. If there is little to no temperature difference, you may have an electrical (loose wire, failed component) or mechanical (locked compressor) problem. If your unit is still under warranty, is it possible to return it to the store it was purchased from?

Had the same problem, replaced the ambient air temp sensor in front of the radiator. Cost is like 10-15 bucks. Don't worry if temp doesn't change right away. Took me about 5 miles and then it worked great.
