there is a flap in the refrigerator side usually near or behind the light bulb the freezer side is thermostatically controlled with the compressor being controlled. On the refrigerator side the cold air comes from the freezer side. when this flap is open the refrigerator will cool continuously, Check the flap or the duct assembly here is an illustration of the part http://www.repairclinic.com/Kenmore-Refrigerator-Model-10674219400-ID-927868-Duct-Venting-Parts
Change or clean the filter and clean both coils, no air flow or reduced air flow, the coil will freeze. It will also freeze if its set to cold 72 min. setting. Example if your room temp is 72 degrees, than the air will be 52, and the coil temp is 32 degrees, any moisture will freeze. Hope this helps
Most manufacturer's fridges are designed for 34 degrees F in the fresh food compartment and 0 degrees F in the freezer compartment. Setting the fresh food compartment to a value lower than 32 degrees will freeze any moisture in foods, fruits and vegetables and freeze water in juices and other beverages resulting in broken containers, exploding cans, etc.
What you need is another freezer. Trying to convert a refrigerator into a freezer is going to be very difficult - especially without ruining it.
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper)
between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it.
Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it
to run. There is a flap you adjust with
the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust
the fridge temp. The problem could be the electronic control if
you have one or the mechanical linkages.
It sounds like the defrost heater is burned out. Remove the inside back cover in the freezer to see if the coils are frozen up. If so, more than likely your defrost heater has bit the dust. It is located at the bottom of the inside coil of the freezer.
Also, you could be have a clogged condensor coil. It is located on the out side back of the Fridge. You need to remove the panel from the lower part of the fridge and do a thorugh cleaning.
I too have cleaned all the coils. And vaccuumed everywhere I can vaccuum. The blower is blowing what else can I try?
