No water from brew head - Gaggia 102534 Espresso-Color Semi-Automatic Red Espresso Machine

Check Water Reservoir: Ensure that the water reservoir is properly seated in place and filled with water to the appropriate level. Sometimes, the machine won't brew if it detects an inadequate water level. Check Water Inlet and Outlet: Inspect the water inlet and outlet for any clogs or blockages. Sometimes, debris or mineral buildup can prevent water from flowing through the machine. Clean any visible obstructions carefully. Descale the Machine: If the issue is due to mineral buildup, descaling the coffee maker might help. Use a commercial descaling solution or a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Run this solution through the machine as you would during a regular brewing cycle. Afterward, run a few cycles with plain water to rinse out any residue. Inspect Grinder and Filter Basket: Check the grinder and filter basket for any coffee grounds or other debris that might be obstructing the flow of water. Ensure that the grinder and filter basket are correctly positioned and securely locked in place. Clean the Brew Head: The brew head may also become clogged with coffee grounds or oils, affecting water flow. If your machine has a removable brew head, take it out and clean it thoroughly. If it's not removable, follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning the brew head. Run a Cleaning Cycle: Some coffee makers have a cleaning cycle that helps remove buildup inside the machine. VPS are pour over brewers. Like the 12 cup brewers you find at home, they need to be filled with 12 cups of water (a full pot), heated and then peculated over the coffee grounds and collected in a decanter.
BUT there is one main difference! The VPR and similar COMMERCIAL coffee machines are quick brewers. They usually have a pre-heated pot of water stored inside the machine.
* VPR's and similar machines REQUIRE a pre-fill and heating period prior to brewing. This means it's sitting on a level table and filled with water until water sprays from the brew head. At this point the unit is plugged in and the heater is turned on. Brewer will pre-heat the water (there may be some water discharge from brew head as the water expands). Ready light will come on in about 15 mins.
* To Brew; Place coffee grounds in filter, place in funnel and brew head, clean empty decanter under funnel, slowly pour one full decanter of water (cold or hot) into brew tray. Do not overflow tray. Allow water level to sink before adding more water. Only fill with one pot as an equal amount will come out the brew head and funnel.
* You can test the VPR by following the Pre-fill instructions I've listed earlier. If the brewer heats up and does not continuously boil (shorted condition) then try a brew. If it works then your okay. Otherwise the unit will need service for a blown high limit or bad heater element.
* Call your coffee vendor anyway. Many coffee vendors will service your brewer of even replace it as long as you buy coffee from them. Ask around.

* FYI Coffee grounds are usually in pre-messured packets for office use. A simple guide is one tablespoon per cup. (level or heaping spoon is up to you)
* Since your brewer was bubbling at one point. I'm guessing it had water in the pre-heater at one time. But if it's not in use and left plugged in all that time then the water has probably boiled off. Hopefully someone unplugged the brewer prior to the unit blowing the thermal fuse.

Be sure spray disk and brew gasket are properly installed in the
brew head.

Be sure the water supply is properly connected and the water
supply valve is turned
ON

Be sure the WATER TANK IS FILLED
BEFORE plugging the brewer into a receptacle, or otherwise
connecting brewer to electrical power
THE WATER TANK MUST BE FILLED

Place an empty decanter under the brew head. Lift
the pour-over cover then pour warm tap water into the pour-over
opening until water flows from the brew head. When water stops
dripping from the brew head, empty the container.

Once the tank is full of water,
connect the brewer to electrical
power. The heating elements will begin heating the water in the
tank.
When the water has reached the proper temperature, the

Check to make sure the rubber gasket is still on the water output in the brew head. It goes around the water output needle in the top of the brew head. Without that gasket, there is no seal on the top of the k-cup and water can leak. Run it with no K-cup in it and see of water does not leak this way. If it doesn't leak then it points to a missing seal. Hope this works for you.

Clean it out. Replace the filter in the water tank if needed. Clean water output in brew head. Make sure water is not pumping back into the tank during the brew cycle - this indicates a clog (or partial clog) in the water line to the brew head (most likely place is at the water output shaft in the brew head).

Try adjusting the grind.

That's ok .
The water from the steam nozzle is straight from a boiler.
Where as the brew head is fed from another boiler via the brew unit,so you will still have some coffee in the system.
If you wanted to you can rinse the brew head by making preground coffee without coffee this will flush it clean.

Check the screen on the brew unit it is below the red o-ring and that might be clogged, and the grind might be too fine.

Yes it is possible to go the the next larger element.
Yes if the machine was plumbed there would be a difference in the way it brewed the water temp. if you look at the end hose in the pan from the solenoid, it takes a while for it to pour out 3liters.
Try using a different sprayhead(if yo;u are using a 6 hole try getting a 5 hole. That will constrain the flow of water a little more allowing the element more time the heat the water.
