Nope too much obstruction between the routers. RF waves will not go thru. You'll need to another router.

Is this a new router, as in new out of the box and not setup?

    SAY ONLY WIFI FAILS
so a PC fails in that dead wifi room too?
PROOF, PS3 ETHERNET WIRED TO wgr614 WORKS
AND PS3 WIFI WORKS DOWN STAIRS.(as do PC THERE
so the floor upstair down is too dense for wifi radio signal to pass through it.
this is like common as nailS complaint world wide.ENDLESS AND CAST SAME DEAL.

    the cure is simple.
1: use wired only connection (run the cable)
2: wire a new Unifi AP, to the up stairs room.
3: or bUy 10 wifi extenders that all fail.
4: buy mesh system , and some do work !!!
5: Call your ISP and pay for this upgraded
6: call a mobile wifi tech to your home and WATCH THEM WORK/!
7: in the room PS3 tether it to a working cell phone.
    https://www.lifewire.com/what-is-tetheri...

buy and pay for 2nd cable modem to that room
    or if not in USA
buy for that room, 3G/4G/5G service model for that room. (SAY 5G TO WIFI MAGIC) my ISP and cell providers all said NO. but in Asia yes.

9 cures did i get the all, seems so ?????
    ok 1 more.

not told you own the home , if not
ask owner for cures, only they allow.
    OK 1 more 10th
buy Hughesnet for dead wifi room, or the like kinds.

I have 3 AP here. even my garage to run GEN and wifi sprinklers.
AP is wired just like school is. unifi AP

Playing Online Games Behind The Router

A router uses a combination of hardware and software to prevent unauthorized users or internet traffic from accessing your private local area network (LAN). If your game console, such as Playstation is behind the router, you will need to configure routers Port Forwarding feature in order to play online games.

Note: You will need to get the ports and service type for your games. This is usually available from the games website.

Steps how to configure router to play online games:

  1. Open a browser and type in the following URL: http://www.routerlogin.com or http://192.168.1.1 (depending on the model number of the router)
  2. Type the Username as admin and the Password as password and click OK.
  3. Click on Port Forwarding under Advanced menu.
  4. Then click on Add Custom Service
5. Under Service Name, type the name of the game.
  • Select the Service Type from the drop down menu (depending on the game).
  • Type the Starting Port and Ending Port numbers (depending on the game).
  • Type the IP address of your PlayStation in the Server IP Address box and click Apply.
  • Click on WAN Setup under ADVANCED menu.
    • Check the Disable SPI firewall box
    • Change MTU size from 1500 (which is the default) to 1300 and click Apply.
Now the Playstation is ready to use.

    I hope this helps...

Was the webkey for my ps3 and how much is a

There is no "webkey" for a Ps3, I have a slimline 250gb and there is no key that you need to know about. If anything you have a playstation network login with a password that you set yourself or when you set up a wireless connection you need your WPA or WPA2 password for the connection so that you can use your in home WiFi.

a decent router to buy are Linksys, Belkin, and Netgear. I have a Netgear or a Belkin and its just a average house wifi network router that cost me about $50 at Bestbuy.

If connect it just follow the directions and use the windows network wizard to setup a wifi network. just be sure to remember your password for your wifi!!

When its time to connect your Ps3 just go to settings>Network settings (very bottom) > then I think its Internet connection settings> Easy>Wired or Wireless> Scan> select the right one>name it or dont> put in the password> make sure everything is correct> test it> Then if your test succeeds you'll be ready to go!

I have netgear wgr614 upstairs my laptop downstairs loads pages VERY slowly what can I do

Verify that it is indeed a wifi signal problem by moving the laptop upstairs temporarily.

If this fixes the problem, you're getting poor wifi signal downstairs. Not much you can do with the elements at hand. So try adding another element: install a wifi signal repeater (around US$ 25) somewhere in the middle. Or you can run a cable (or use Powerline Ethernet - around US$ 100) to downstairs, and there install a wifi access point (US$ 30-60). Or directly connect the laptop to the newly installed network wire.

If the problem isn't fixed, you have some other problem on the laptop: most likely a faulty network configuration. Verify against whatever PC you have upstairs; they should have identical configurations except their IP address (if fixed instead of DHCP).

Just to be on the safe side verify the laptop is properly operating and immune from virus and malware. Not all slowdowns are the system's fault.

    Happy navigation!

    ENTERNET CONNECTIONS FOR PS-3 80GB

if you want to be able to play your ps3 downstairs with your modem upstairs, you might consider buying a Wireless Router that has Wireless G , for your PS3.
This will allow you to access your Internet all around your house without wires. I suggest looking for one that features MIMO or range plus max, or anything else that increases your signal range since there is a fair amount of distance involved.

The alternative is relocating your modem downstairs and hooking it up to the PS3. BUT your computer wont have Internet.

Gamin adapter set up, plz help

Hi Shawn. Does yout PS2 connect when it is downstairs on the wireless? Reason I ask is wifi routers tend to transmit horizontally, and are very weak in vertical transmittions.
If you are connecting while you are own stairs, we can assume the WEP is not an issue.

WEP setting vary on different adapters. Some allow your to use 5 digits for your wep code, others require the full 10 digits. If you are using just 5, say 12345, try putting a 3 infront of each digit, i.e. 3132333435. If you are using all 10, on bought the adapters, this shouldn't be a issue.
Of course, if you can connect to while downstaris, this issue it mute.
You can also try changing channels. Channel 1 has more range than channel 8.
The last guess is that yoour router has less range than the Dlink.

See if any of those suggestions help, and let us know.

    Good luck.
