Hello
I am printing with a Mac 10.5.5 using Adobe Photoshop CS4, on an Epson stylus 9800. The paper is made by Breathing Color and is 300 gsm.I am making a 26x26 (psd) print. When it gets to the last inch or so the ink cartridges stop and move to the far right. About 2 minutes later the cartridges continue printing and finish the print. The problem is, after the inks temporarily stop, it prints a faint line an inch high, all the way across the print. The faint line is not on my file. I've printed several different images the same size with the "faint line" result. I even tried cropping the image, re-sized it to 26x26 and printed it with the same result. I also tried a different weight paper I have printed smaller prints (14x14) without a problem. I am baffled. I do not understand why it stops at exactly the same place every time. I also wonder why it does not make the faint lineelse where or consistently through out the print. It always happens at the end.I thought maybe changing the PLATEN to wide, might work but the printer will not recognize the file when I change that setting. Please help. This is truly a strange problem.Andrew
We've seen this problem in our shop. The document is "timing out" and the gap is where it restarts. You have to set the print manager to wait to print until the document is finished processing. Any large print will do the same thing. Try "pausing" the printer on your computer, then execute the "print" command in Photoshop, then go back to the printer control panel and "un-pausing" the printer.

Thank you for responding to my problem with the 9800.
I followed your instructions to the letter but did not have the same results that you may have had. I am using a mac with OS10.5.5.
That may be the difference. I did find on the control panel, "Timing out" function on the 9800. Set it to zero, and printed the image. I got the same result. A faint line running the length of the print just before the printer finishes the image. Any suggestion on my next step. I may have done your steps incorrectly. Can you or anyone give me detailed instructions? Help. This is the wierdest problem
I have ever seen.
Andrew
