These procedures are from the owners manual, go into menu and then picture quality and then: Convergence The Convergence feature lets you adjust the TV’s three tubes. When the TV tubes’ images are precisely aligned, they create the color images you see on the screen. Over time, the picture can drift out of alignment (this is normal). If your picture seems fuzzy or has a yellow tint, using Convergence could correct this misalignment. Only one convergence is needed for all inputs, regardless of the signal format. Note: Make sure the TV has been on for at least 30 minutes (TV needs to warm up for best results) before starting Auto Converge or Red/Blue Centering. When you select the Convergence feature, a submenu appears with three options: Auto Converge Automatically aligns the projection lenses to self-correct color images. You’ll see flashing squares of color dance across the screen (this is normal). Note: After performing auto convergence, use the Blue Centering and Red Centering menus to fine tune convergence in the center of the screen, if necessary. Blue Centering Aligns the blue and green images to fine-tune the picture. Red Centering Aligns the red and green images to fine-tune the picture. Note: The ability to change channels is disabled when adjusting the convergence options. The TV must be tuned to a usable signal to converge the picture.

This happens when convergence out ICs become defective.
Replace convergence ICs on D board to get correct picture. This qualified TV tech job.

bad convergence would cause show to look as if it was supposed to be a 3-d movie, if a bulb was going out then people would look purple blue -green,or some other off color, so likely the green bulb is going out from the color of the people you described.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. jaymz, you can`t move the green, the green tube is always mounted in the middle and is not adjustable from the convergence menu. red & blue should be converged one at a time on top of the green, once you have accomplished this the crosshatch grid will be white and that means your done :)

After replacing a Picture tube convergence/geometry allignments can be quite extensive and if they're not fairly precise the sensors for the auto conv. can not be calibrated therefore your auto conv. not working as you described. The key is usually the geometry start with the green lines and get them as square as you can then align the red/blue. Since the auto is not going to blue that often means the blue is to far out and the sensors are not picking it up.

This is the typical convergence problem. There are two IC's that need to be replaced. They are soldered into the printed circuit board.
