How to reset expired hp 02 cartridge

I'm not sure what you mean by "reset" and whether you are speaking of ink jet or laser cartridges. From my experience all HP laser cartridges have a small chip (with a little circuitry) that counts down your pages and when it decides your cartridge is out of toner you cannot "reset" that chip, you can only replace it, so like when you refill the cartridge. Some of the HP laser printers let you override these toner level chips (my HP 1518ni does) but in many laser printers you are stuck when the chip counts down to '0' pages. Some printers will run if you remove the chip from the cartridge but from my experience most will not.
Ink jet cartridges are somewhat similar but I gave up on ink jet printers several years ago. I know for some brands (Epson?) you can buy a small tool that somehow resets the cartridge chip (so if you refill cartridges yourself); possibly there is something similar for HP ink jet cartridges.

Can't print pdfs on my designjet 430

I would start with a simple test as to check all the settings of the printer. If you can retrieve a Self configuration of the printer, this will tell you what is set in the printer's character's settings. This is also checking current Firmware dirvers to include your Post script

The ligth is flashing 8 times giving a waste ink warning

> waste ink warning

When you are not using the printer, the print-heads move to a "resting" position,
so that the ink-jets do not dry out, and clog themselves.

At this "resting" position, there is a small "garbage-can" that holds the "waste" ink that leaks out of the ink-jets.

Since you've had the printer for a while, and have used it a lot, that "garbage-can" is full of ink, and needs to be emptied, and the "percentage-full" sensor needs to be reset to "zero" percent.

Take your printer to any qualified printer technician, for servicing.

I have an HP Designjet 430 with colour kit. Hasnt been used for a while (maybe 2 months). Cartidge light flashes. Have cleaned all cartridges and checked that they are installed correctly and are full but...

Hi Laura.
A trick I've used from years back seems to work, if jetsare maybe blocked from dried ink.

You will need:
An old or disposable container and clean rag.
Some clean tissues.
Hot water.
Sheet of paper. Newspaper will do.

Cleaning jets:
Pour boiling hot water into container.
Dip base of cartridge 1 into water until you see an ink-cloud then remove and pat dry with clean rag.
Rest at angle on paper.
Repeat for other cartridges.
Use tissue to gently wipe any remaining water drops.

Reinsert in printer.

Regards, Clive.

It says used ink jet full. I don't know what that means. All of my color ink jets are full and I can't even make them come forward to check them but I'm sure they are full. What is the used ink jet.

Used ink jet is probably something like the 'waste toner' cartridge in laser printers. Look in the manual for a reservoir that has waste ink somewhere. Hopefully it'snot in the ink jet cartridge.

What year, make, model printer is this for further research?

Printer not working so put new Color ink in - red light is on the black ink. Changed printing preferences to Color Ink and deleted all documents in queue and also turned off computer and still the printer...

part of your prob is that the way ink jet printers work, (according to the tech support training that I rcv'd about ten yrs ago from Canon) is that the printer "builds" the image or character by adding color to the black ink (for most of the jobs) in order to create "depth", so you will need to replace or (HINT: you can sometimes reset the cartridge by lifting the locktab and then reseating it) using the utility to replace the black cartridge. good luck!

Red & Green led is blinking continiously after carriage initial.

The Waste Ink Pads are deemed to be saturated and should be replaced. You can overcome this problem temporarily bu using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and reset the Protection Counter. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C46 Service Manual.

Ink problem

Check to make sure nothin is jammed in your printer. I had that happen to me, either my kids or my cat got something small stuck in the printer and it created a blank horizontal line down the page. Hope it's something that simple!!
