From what you are saying you are getting 'clear carrier jam' because of a misalignment. The jam error message is a generic message that applies to a multitude of things. The carrier while is in right, might not be sitting right. A piece of plastic that holds the carrier might be broken or the printhead might be messed up. Anything that causes it to not sit the way it wants will cause that error message.

SOURCE: how do I clear carrier jam on lexmark p6250

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

SOURCE: lexmark 5400 series printer

Just today, our Lexmark 5400 began having paper jam issues. We'd try to print, and the paper would initially feed into the back and then wouldn't go any further. Then it gave printer jam error messages. After peering and poking into various areas of the unit I wound up disconnecting the printer from power, phone line, and USB connection, I took it to a better lit room.

Peering carefully into the back paper feed area, I discovered a pencil!! After excising the pencil, the printer worked fine. One of my precious children must have accidentally dropped a pencil into the back, or a pencil was resting on top of the unit and rolled into the back paper feed area.
Lesson learned, don't put pens or pencils on top of the printer.

SOURCE: carrier jam

Try feeding a sheet thru the top mutisheed scanner feed, or look for some paper stuck in the rollers, I have had mine jam up on multisheet copies several times and I get a clear document type error.

Hello there You can try see if this may do the job. This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Carrier Jam, there's nothing in it, I put new cartridge in still saids carrier jam, other then that this thin strip came out

The thin strip could be the encoder strip (transparent strip) which is responsible for the proper movement of the cartridge carrier along the carrier assembly. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Error 1203 and carrier jam error

Error 1203 on a Lexmark is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad... I would suggest you to try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..

If that doesn't work just call up their support number and check for replacement..
