I have a Tom Tom One and sometimes it behaves as if there are no satellites no matter how long it is switched on for but I now just drive off and within a few seconds (30 seconds at most) is it suddenly acquires the satellites and it's OK. It just seems to be a quirk of the device and it doesn't do it all the time.

If it still does not acquire satellites on the move then it is probably faulty and needs to be repaired.

My Tom Tom reads it can't find a valid GPS Signal. I've reset it but it's stuck & won't work. Is it dead? Thank you.

tom tom and others do this from time to time. i have fixed mine by taking the battery off, you need to open the unit up and un solder the battery. then leave it off for 10min then solder it back on you only need to remove the black wire off the battery leave the other red one on. should be fine then does a full reboot on startup.

My Tom Tom 530 switches on ok but screen shows no signal, when outside. I have pressed the reset button problem still persists. Can you help! Thanks.

Tap the map screen in the lower right hand side where the bars are then tap the screen on the upper right hand side where the battery is. This will bring you to the satellite screen. Leave it alone for about a minute if you don't see any grey bars showing on the bottom of the screen your unit has a problem. If you do see grey bars at the bottom leave it alone and let it do it's thing. Sometimes for the first time after not using it for awhile it may take up to a 1/2 hour for it to locate the satellite's

No GPS Signal in TomTom One XL all of a sudden

I suddenly lost the GPS signal today and could not get it back. All I got was the "No valid GPS signal". My solution was to tap on the GPS satellite bars when in the route map. this brought up the "Status summary page of the TOMTOM.

I then again tapped the satellite bar which brought up the "GPS Status" page. I then tapped the bar labeled "configure".

The radio button next to the option titled "Minutes (dm.m') was selected. I then moved the selection to "Degrees (d.d) and it started working.

I had just downloaded the GPS fix 5 days ago so it is not like this suddenly caused it to stop working.

This may not work for everyone but this is what it took to get mine working.

Cheers

Tom tom go 910

TOM Tom no charge and will not turn on
leave on charge for two hours, then with the SD card out hold down the reset button at the back of unit for ten seconds and then the 'on' switch for ten seconds.
STEP 1
Connect your TomTom to your
computer True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif via USB and open up your Windows Explorer and go to the drive. (It will be listed as TOMTOM (E) or some other drive letter).
Copy the Yellow Folders one by one to your PC. Ideally, save all the folders under a new folder that you name.
You may find that the folder ttntools and gns may not be copied. This is o.k. if they aren't.
STEP 2
Format your Tomtom via MY Computer.
STEP 3
Copy the Yellow Folders from the
backup True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif you made in STEP 1 back to the TomTom.
STEP 4
Open TomTom Home
Click on Upate Now.
Install the latest update onto your TomTom.
Once installed, switch your TomTom off, then disconnect if from the PC.
Thats it. From now on, make a full backup using TomTom Home prior to any updates.
Also note, that copying all the files will take some time.

No gps signal

I have had my GPS( TOmTOM One) on Waiting for Signal for 2 weeks now and I finally fixed it.

My symptomtoms (word play) were no signal at open areas, when connected to Tom Tom Home it showed exactly where I was and worked through the PC but when disconnected back to the same thing.

I called Tom Tom CS and nothing, FLash did nothing, factory defaults nothing, and updating did nothing.

What I did:
I charged the unit completely.
I took a paperclip and while off pressed on the reset button at the bottom by SD slot. I held it there for 30 mississippi's.
I did not turn it on after letting go.
I went outside to my car (parked on roof of parking lot) turned it on and set it on my dash vertically.
I left and came back in 1 hour and wallaaaaa. It is working perfectly!

Let me know if this fixes it.

Tom tom

that sounds like there is something stuck in the edges of the touchscreen...

try & run a toothbrush or your finger nail or a piece of paper flat against the screen & run it 360 around the edges of the screen...

Failing that buy another faulty one with different issues from an auction site & chop & change the faulty parts.

as you are out of warranty it wont matter.
