On the Ip4300 the yellow light flashes at 10 times intervals. The printer does not responde to anything. Thanks Dave

This is from Canon's web site...

Ten flashes:The Cassette is not installed properly/Cannot perform duplex printing
  • When loading from the Cassette, install the Cassette properly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.
  • When performing automatic duplex printing, the size of paper may not be compatible with automatic duplex printing. The sizes of media suitable for auto duplex printing are A3, Regal, 11" x 17" (Tabloid), B4, A4, Letter, 10" x 12", 8" x 10", B5, and A5". Make sure that the size of the paper loaded in the printer is correct. Pressing the RESUME/CANCEL button will eject the paper and restart printing from the front side of the next paper. The reverse side of the ejected sheet will not be printed.

When I try to print pdf's, word doc's, etc. from my MacBook to my Canon ip4300, they come out squished into the upper right corner of the paper. The paper size is set to "US letter" on the computer. How...

I'm not sure how to get at it using MAC software, but you need to get into the printer preferences.

I'm running Linux, which has some similarities, and to get at my printer preferences I click on System - Admin - Printing - RMB on the required printer and select Properties.

You may also be able to get at it via your programmes folder.

All you have to do is change the paper size from us letter to A4 or the particular size you require.

Flashing lights on printer

The iP4300 manual says this for 10 flashes "
The size of paper may not be compatible with automatic duplex printing. The sizes of media suitable for auto duplex printing are A4, Letter, A5, and 5" x 7". Make sure that the size of the paper loaded in the printer is correct. Pressing the RESUME/CANCEL button will eject the paper and restart printing from the front side of the next paper. The reverse side of the ejected sheet will not be printed." Hope this helps

Printer ip4300 not installing correctly

Some folks have had good luck resolving issues like you have by deleting the INFCACHE.1 file, which can get corrupted with bad data and cause issues.
The file is located at C:\Windows\inf. There, scroll down to the INFCACHE.1 file and right click it and select delete.
To do this, you will likely have to give yourself permission to delete it, because of Windows built-in security.
Just right click the file, select Properties and then click on the security tab.
Let us know whether this procedure does anything. Sometimes it does and sometimes not.

Re: How to make a enlarged document

In some printers there is a enlarge document printing support. Like Konica Minolta heavy duty printers or copiers. They support custom paper size in printer properties and also can support a large paper form a paper roll.
You are using inkjet printer so I feel there in no limit of paper size so you can print a custom size paper what you want.
Before printing just go to the properties of the printer and add a new custom size in paper menu then put that size paper into printer hope it’ll work. You must change the paper size from the application from where you are printing that paper.

IP 4300 Canon Printer printing horisontal gray lines

To solve this problema, proceed with LF correction procedure, which is well documented on Canon IP4300 simplified service manual (it can be found at Emule network). This procedure prints some patterns and the user has to choose the best among them. One of them will probably enough to compensate (or, at least, to minimize the problem to the point that naked eyes can't observe it) the line feeding error which causes dark horizontal lines along the printer lifetime (probably because of feed roller wearing).
