That's funny [feed dogs]they are called, dog ears but you do now have to feed the dogs because their not working.lol.hey you will have to get those parts on-line or at an appliance store.lowes wont carry those that i know.anyway if you pop the cap of the agitator you will see a piece that has a small handle.pull up and remove that piece.then you will see the bolt to remove to pull the agaitator[its a 7/16]take a good look at how its together before you take apart.......ok now that the agitator is out place on floor, put feet on the bottom piece and pull up on the top piece til comes off.then dump out the piece in the top w/dog ears in it........install new ears in that piece and reinstall upside down, inthe top piece of the agitator.then apply pressure on the dog ear retainer and place over the bottom piece of the agitate aligning the two little tabs sticking up on the bottom piece of the agitator with the little cut outs in the dog ear retainer....now take your socket to place bolt back on,put some plastic wrapper or package from dogs in the socket and push the bolt into it.then place the bolt in the hole of the dog ear retainer .now lift agitator up and place onto transmission shaft and tighten bolt and place cover back on................boy that was a lot of words.that should do it for you God bless you Tiffany ,from tom

Need to replace dog ears on my kenmore 70 series washer, need to know does this only take a socket wrench to fix?

the agitator dogs are found under the top half of the agitator. take out the agiator and you will see 4 cream colored pieces of nylon, these are the dogs and they wear down and the agitator will not move. you do not need any kind of tool to change them.

Agitator doesn't agitate - kenmore model 110

how old is the machine? agitator dogs in agitators have only been used for the past 15 or so years. sounds like you need to take the agitator out and replace the 4 dogs in the top of the agitator. not a costly repair.

WILL NOT AGITATE

Hello, it could be 2 things.
1) You could have worn out dog agitation ears
2) Could need a new transmission

Dog agitation ears would be my first choice and it's pretty easy to fix. Parts will cost you around $10.

Good luck :)

Will not agitate 110 92587210 Kenmore Washer

I have 2 words for you: "dog ears".

the dog aggitation ears are what cause the aggitator to aggitate. Those things wear down and not grab after time.

Pretty easy to change out. You just need to pull the aggitator out and change the 4 little plastic ears. Good luck :)

My washing machine spins but will not agitate

Turn the agitator (auger) by hand. It should work like a ratchet (turns one way, locks the other way). If it spins both ways, you need to replace the agitator dogs (funny name, I didn't make it up).
This can be done by removing the top cover off the agitator and removing the bolt that holds the agitator to the drive shaft. Then remove the top section, flip it over and replace the dogs (small white plastic pieces). Reassemble in reverse manner.

If the agitator dogs are ok, you may need a gearcase (transmission).

Agitator not agitating!

It sounds like your agitator dogs are worn and need replacing. Yes...there is such a thing. They are small teflon (I believe) plastic pieces that help the agitator grip properly. There are 4 of them under your agitiator cap and costs about $6.00 for a package of them. It only takes minutes to replace. If you can give me your EXACT model number, I can determine a part number for you, and give you advice on how to change out the dogs. Post back with your comments and let me know.
