Washing machine WK61420GB drum does not turn

THe washing machine fills and empties however the drum does not spin, the belt is intact and on the spindles.You can hear the machine going through the cycle however the cycle does not finnish the clothes were removed whilst the clothes were wet although the drum was empty of water.

I suspect the motor is not working how can you check this out.

If it fills and empties, that Eliminates The Pump. If no Spin Of the Actual drum, Could Be Belt-Stretched/Snapped. Motor brushes Worn. Or A Problem With the logic board Controller Panel.
Go for The belt/Motor brushes first.

The drum does not turn.
there are two potential problems. firstis te belt to the drum drive pully from th moter. this is the easiest. take off the back panel an seeif the belt is intact. if so run through a cycle and see if the motor spins or triesto spin. if not this is most likely thesuspect. one plug three screws and about100 dollarsfixes te motor. hope this helps.

Check lid switch.

If you have wash action from then the motor is most likely O.K.

If your lid switch is faulty, the machine stops before the spin cycle.

Hotpoint WMA76. Had an uneven load when spinning but could not get to switch it off fast enough. It stopped itself and now the drum will not turn on any wash or spin cycle. Will fill and empty water but...
Remove rear lower panel and check to see if belt has come off, if belt o/k, then check brushes in motor.
