When playing a game or seeign a video it will black out now and then. its an ASUS VE247. New
Use a mode other than "game mode".
This solved the issue I was describing above (where the screen would "black out" in predictable places).
Try this & see if it helps

Sulotion was to use a DVI-HDMI cable instead. The old cable was an extended VGA cable.
I get this issue with a VE248Q also (using the included HDMI -> DVI cable). Happens quite often in games like the new Syndicate or parts of L4D or Magicka. I can actually generate the behaviour in these games.
To follow-up, this is *not* related to the screen going to sleep due to idle (in my case anyway).
